Bruce Arians winning the NFL COACH OF THE YEAR . . . letting that marinate . . . is the biggest F.U.(amatu-ma'afala) to some of the yo-yos in this fan base ever (and complete redemption for those who supported him). Oh, and it's a pretty big middle finger to the guy who fired him, too (Art II). Oh, nevermind. I forgot. Arians "retired."

    L . . . M . . . A . . . O!

    Love it!

    Nice job, Bruce!

Let me see...the last time I checked, the award was named coach of the year not coach of a bad team last year and better coach of this season. Same record and Seattle went further and was a much better COACHED TEAM! So Indy had two coaches during the season and that's fair? Take the emotions out of it and Seattle head coach wins hands down .I'm a steeler fan that don't really care one way or the other ,but was just pointing out some injustices that has occurred during the season as a steeler fan.

Yeah but in a different way. This year I kept waking up going "Run Run Pass.... Run Run Pass NOOOOOOO!!!!!" Mostly towards the end of the season though. For the first half I was very satisfied with the fact that we seemed to go in to games with an actual plan and that we would call plays that fit the situation and that we used one of the great tight ends in football as more than just a guy to grab a catch or two and that we had multiple hundred yard rushers and that Ben was having a career year and that he was not getting sacked nearly as much and that we were the best in the league on third down and second in the league in time of possession but then everything changed and I started having the nightmares again.

I remember the day I was at Heinz watching the Steelers dominate...I mean squeak past the Eagles. The Packers were up big. Next thing I know, we're on our way home, and see the Colts won. I give BA credit for that.

Nobody could win in Arizona right now with that quarterback situation.

I guess if he does win, this board will just attribute it to winning with Whisenhunt's players.

I know I haven't been getting on here as much as I would like lately, but, do I see some trolls lurking in? I guess it was bound to happen. I'm not calling anyone out or naming names but if you feel like being defensive it might be you I'm talking about!

Seems like the C.O.Y. recognition is going the way of the Pro-bowl. I'll give Bruce his due and say that he did a good job and better than I expected, but Coach of the Year? It is all drama, folks and some of you have bought into the sappy soap opera that the NFL wants you to. A decimated roster, losing one of the greatest QB's of all time, a completely new coaching staff, the highly touted rookie heir to Manning, HC battling cancer, a retread retired (fired) OC filling in while the HC was out. Great... yippee... happy for ya Bruce.... Your C.O.Y. award and a buck-fifty will gt ya a cup of coffee at Denny's..... and a job with the Cardinals....

Seems like your thought process is going the way of the dodo. I'll give you your due since you gave us your doo and agree that there was certainly the dramatic storyline, but . . . well . . . what's your point?! All of the stuff you listed was accurate. He took an incredibly challenging team coming off an abysmal season, with a rookie qb, and a coach battling cancer and took them to the playoffs. In the face of incredible adversity, his team overachieved. It was a slam dunk in the voting that he turned in the best head coaching job of the year.

How did the Saints do this year with MUCH less turmoil? Was Joe Vitt on the ballot? Wasn't there much greater talent in NO? With a veteran, Pro Bowl qb at the helm on a veteran team?

Like I said before, the people bashing Arians are looking like MO-RONS.

BA Had to go because if he stayed, Ben would be DEAD. Our line was too week and or Ben was too slow or both. Luck had a better line and it paid

Yup. BA isn't a bad coach, but the Steelers needed better game calling. (Will be interesting if Halley makes the right adjustments, now that he is settled in.)

From 2011 to 2012, Ben had 10 fewer sacks, 5 more TD, 6 fewer interceptions, and 2 less fumbles. (He also played 13 games instead of 15.) Other than the freak rib dislocation, Ben was taking less damage. Luck, compared to Ben, played 3 more games, had 11 more sacks, 3 fewer TD, 10 more interceptions, and had 4 more fumbles. It seems like Luck was taking more abuse than Ben. If he was unfortunate enough to get a serious injury (like Ben did), BA would be getting roasted instead of praised.

It could very well be that BA might be a better head coach than he was an Offensive Coordinator.

It could very well be that BA was a good offensive coordinator making the best of what he had to work with. An improvisational quarterback, a patchwork line, and very young receivers.
