    Sampling? A lot of rappers use other bands riffs all the time.

    Im not saying i agree with it, i dont, but do bands get permission to use riffs beforehand so they dont get sued?

    Still cant believe Chester and Chris Cornell are gone. Plus, Layne Staley from Alice in Chains
    All 3 had addictions and battled depression @S.T.D@S.T.D

    That’s not true. They pay for the rights to use those riffs. When they don’t they get sued into oblivion.

    See above, i already inquired about that situation. Was just stating that rappers sample a lot of other musicians . Didnt mean to say stealing

    Nobody pays James Brown, and His band for all the riffs that rap has taken....., and why as a so called musician....if You were writing a song would You purposely take something that is already done

    But, when you look at it or in this case hear it, a lot of songs have beats from previous songs. True? Or at least sound similar.

    A beat is a whole different animal. For example....I can play 50 different songs on My Guitar to the exact same beat. .. all I have to do is slow, or speed up certain parts. I've demonstrated this to students before back in the day
