Why does Schlereth bash Russell Wilson every chance he gets? It really gets old.

Maybe because Schlereth is a former Broncos?

Probably a good take. Wilson didn't live up to what was given up to get him (maybe not entirely Russell's fault of course, but true nonetheless). Schlereth is probably (like most Broncos fans I am sure) pretty bitter about that on a fan level, and extra critical because of it.

He was traded for Drew Lock, Noah Fant, Shelby Harris, 2 first round picks (2022 - used on Charles Cross, 2023 - used on Devon Witherspoon), 2 second round picks (2022 - used on Boye Mafe, 2023 - Used on Derrick Hall), and a 2022 fifth round pick (used on Tyreke Smith)

On top of that he was given a 254 million dollar contract.... so needless to say he was brought in to take this team into the postseason and win deep into the playoffs. That... didn't happen. He went 11-19 in 30 starts and threw for 220 yards a game with 42 TD's and 19 INT's. Certainly not bad football, but they thought they were getting the superstar Wilson and not the "start of his decline" Wilson.

There's a pretty good shot that he has a bit of a renaissance here with us, but I wouldn't expect a return to superstar Russ. However, 240 yards a game and a 2.5 to 1 TD/INT ratio probably puts our team in a position to not only make the playoffs, but win games deep into the playoffs. A true contender? Only time will tell, but If we get that bump back in the right direction for a year or two we might have a shot at being a very dangerous team.

Schlereth needs to direct that angst at Elway, the GM, and the owner. That has to go down as one of the most ridiculous trades and contract in NFL history. That one is on the Broncos FO. Wilson wasn't worth the money and draft picks denver gave up by any stretch of the imagination. Anyone would have taken that money and ran.

And they were not at one QB away to become a true super bowl contender like the broncos were when they sign Manning in 2012,or Brady with the Bucs,Stafford with the rams.....

Not sure John Elway was in on this decision. I could be wrong?
I think the Wal-Mart buyers own this one?

Who knows for sure but it would certainly stand to reason that Elway would have been part of the discussions.

Broncos overpaid severely, no wonder they're bitter.

Not Wilson’s fault. They paid for peak of his powers pro bowl Wilson and got over the hill beat up Wilson.

I really like Schlereth, but I agree on this 100%.
It's like He's mad that the Broncos were dumb enough to trade two first round pick, two second round picks, a 5th round pick, and 3 players for a guy.....when they were way more than a Qb away.....and Now we got the same guy basically free. LoL. How ever it turns out....the Broncos were stupid.

Even if He was....that's too much for one player, and to a team that was not just a Qb away. I won lots of money off of the Broncos wouldn't make the playoffs that year....just because I knew they weren't a Qb away.

still can't believe that the GM who make that trade is still the GM of the Broncos....Unless it was the owner who had make this trade?

I know it's probably not all Elway, but since he's been a part of running things in Denver they've been a worse disaster than any team in the league. Even Washington laughs at them.

26 TD's and 8 picks last season. Beat some high flyers. I'll take that kind of over the hill.

The overrated dolt Payton coaching the team I believe didn't want him. They were like oil and water.

Its no secret that the Denver brass way overpaid. Glad they did so we got him cheap.

All I know is that when I go see him play in Denver it would be the cherry on top of my vacation cake if he were to throw the game winning TD. My binoculars would immediately go straight to John Elways booth.

It’s obvious he is mad. Blame it on management not Wilson. I understand Wilson comes across as fake. It feels like he is gaslighting all the time but the amount of hate the guy gets is ridiculous. It’s not like he is a bad person.
