Payton Wilson hopefully can play Saturday if cleared for concussion


Hasn’t been a great start injury wise for the rookies.

 

Seen enough from Wilson. The guy’s a baller. Sit him the last preseason game
Warren being out may not be too bad. We are deep at that position

 

Agree about sitting any banged up guy for this last pre season game no need to risk it. Disagree about Warren he is one of the few playmakers we have on offense.

 

Please add Broderick Jones to your injury list. Broderick is trying to be a good soldier and play through an injury, refusing to talk about it, but you can see the difference in his game right now because of his elbow injury.

 

I was thinking about it but he says he’s OK and not blaming it for his crap play. I’d hope if he was really hurt that bad he wouldn’t be playing in pre season games?

Warren says he’ll play week 1. Said he’s fine and they’re just being cautious. FWIW

 

Right now, it's really about Fautanu and Broderick, neither of which seem serious but the poor OL play adds to the injury concern. Otherwise, Nate is gone and everyone else (Wilson, Wilson, Warren, etc.) sound like they'll be ready for week 1. I'm still curious if we'll see Holcomb this season. Just praying for no injuries in the final preseason game and hoping the OL looks better.

I don't understand what the Steelers are doing with Holcomb. They might have missed the opportunity to cut bait and run with Holcomb before his Roster bonus was paid.

They have already given him a $2 million roster bonus this year in March. 2024 Cap Hit is $7.6 million, but they would save $2.9 million in cap space if released. $3 million is guaranteed in Salary this year.

 

They must think there's a chance he'll return at some point this season.

 

They restructured Holcomb's contract already, he could possibly return in the second half of the season.

Getting good blood flow is very important.

 

There's a reason he was drafted in the 7th round. Kid is always hurt.

 

Such a pity. Other than that, the kid has all the physical things you look for in a CB. He played well against the Lions up until the injury

 

Any update on Fautanu?

 

he was looking good in preseason too. hopefully not too serious.
