it won't matter if they take lamb, t.hill and jefferson along with pickens if the qb's can't throw the ball. we don't know what our receivers can do either when one just wants to run, fumble and the other is lying on his back. why spend that cash and draft picks? we don't know what our rookies can do. always with the injuries. this team is always dealing with this crap. holcomb, TJ, cam, minkah, trice,/ wilson, wilson, wilson, troy, jones, herbig, cook, bishop, benton. warren. it's like it never ends.

No, but I'll be working my career for 40 years. The average NFL career is less than 3.5 years. Teams can terminate a contract and not pay it out at any time. They're only beholden to the guaranteed money in the deal.

You'd have to be careful sitting players for the sole purpose of affecting the value on their next contract. You'd have to word it properly externally (and not let anything internal leak), because if it came out that the sole reason you were sitting someone was to diminish their future contractual value, then be prepared for a lawsuit. You do have to remember that the contract doesn't stipulate participation in camp or in preseason. Not a single player that holds out is in breach of contract. They only forfeit their contractual obligations when they sit out real games.

In these types of things, I am almost 100% of the time going to side with the people (the individual) over the team (the Billion dollar corporation). These teams give 0 loyalty to the player, but we expect loyalty from the player? This is a hard business and careers are so short. These guys have such a small window to pull every last dollar out of their talents as they can. Very few of these guys will go on to do anything lucrative after football. Heck, there's been studies that show that nearly 80% of these guys will be broke within 3 years after they retire (I get that much of this is on the individual and their spending/saving habits). I'll never fault a player using what little leverage they have to try to maximize their money. It is what I would do in their situation. They'd be stupid not to.

I wouldn't mention Jones in the same breath as Jermaine Stephens just yet. Jones played well last season, but it's painfully obvious that he can't play right now with that bad elbow

Imagine that conversation haha "Hey, we all know you're franchise is a laughing stock and you're primed for yet another 12 win season and first round exit.... Let's not kid ourselves here. You're not in "win now" mode. You're in "lets get the best trade package for Lamb" mode because you'll never be able to afford him with what you're paying Dak. So what do you say, a first and a third? Let's make a deal" haha

You have a point there, there's no way they can afford to keep both. Such a trade is not out of the realm of possibility

The kicker is, if they keep Lamb... do they kick Dak to the curb? I'm sure there will be some people that want us to pony up to get the last 4-5 years out of Dak's career. Can't say it would be a horrible decision lol

That's a possibility too, but then you have the problem of who in the hell is going to throw the ball to Lamb?

Not that I'm aware of? I was just joking about Hill since people are throwing around the names of the best WR's in the NFL, as if we actually have a chance landing one of them

They won’t unload if they start off slowly but they should. Trade (Wilson, Heyward and Watt) Pickup draft capital and move up in the draft to take a QB.

Right!! They want to play for Super Bowl winners Dak Prescott, Geno Smith and Brock Purdy.

hill has a thumb injury right now. not good for a receiver.

it's much easier to get a pass catcher than a pass thrower. good one's anyway. who is going to throw to cee dee? maybe we should trade for an offensive tackle.:cool:

Well, they have a lot better chance of winning a SB with those QB's than they would with Wilson

Edit: Well, maybe not with Geno :lolol:

    the future is ...... NOW.

Better WRs would open up the playbook to AS.

better play calling will help this O line. Throw on first down, run on 3rd. Get DLINES off balance, etc.

NOW - OLINE players DO have to play better and heal of injuries. things are delicate right now!!!

If you are trading TJ Watt then your plan really isn’t going to include advancing in any future playoff game. Look at the win loss record from when he plays or doesn’t play on the defense for a better understanding.

Can't trade TJ because he sells to many Jerseys for the team. :)

TJ's #90 Jersey has kind of replaced all the #43 Jerseys you used to see everywhere.

Its called official rebuild. Ts also having compassion for Watt in letting him go elsewhere and a chance at playoff success.

Plus were over leveraged on defensive spending in an offensive league.

Cooper Rush.... the 2nd string QB. He's probably better than Prescott at this point.
