Right, why not throw in Hill to the conversation as well? Maybe if we trade 3 first round picks, and TJ, we might be able to get him?

I heard Colin Cowherd say today that the Steelers are 30th in offensive total yards over the past 5 year. This includes 2019 when Ben was injured, 2020 when Ben's yards per attempt were in the 5s, and then the 3 years of the coach I refuse to name.

JaMaar Chase ain’t leaving the Bengals anytime soon. I just find it very stupid though that all these players sign a legally binding contract and then want to renegotiate it. 2 years left on a contract. Get your punk a$$ out there and play!

They're still upholding their end until they sit out the season. It's all a game of leverage, and in a profession where any given play could be your last, maximizing your earning potential is necessary. This is 99% of the money most of these guys will make in their lives. Hard to fault them for playing the game. The GM's play the game all the same.

Baloney. They signed the contract with glee when it was offered to them. They are all getting richer than 90% of us could ever dream of. A couple years go by and someone else signs for much more and then all of a sudden their bank account doesn’t seem quite big enough. Maybe these rich idiots should hire a financial adviser instead of blowing their money on mansions, cars, fancy clothing and gold diggers.

You can forget about Lamb, Dallas would want a first round pick and more.

These contracts are forced on the players by the NFL and NFLPA. The player has no say in the amount of the contract. To me this is illegal as hell, and eventually a player is going to Challege this policy of not allowing players to negotiate for their own salary.

I don't blame players on rookie deals asking What the Hell, Why am I the lowest paid player on this team. Who wouldn't have a problem if their boss just hired a guy off the street and agreed to pay him 10 times what you are making for the same job???

Some reports said the 'boys offered a few million less than Jefferson, nut he wants more than J. Who knows the accuracy, but reality needs to set in with these guys, I understand get all you can, blah, blah, but being in Texas with no state tax makes up some of that jing, being on a team with a 'national' brand can give you more ad power. Yes security is the first objective, but the pie needs to feed a lot of others. You can be the highest paid for 5 mins on a team that turns bad quickly, or get security, spread the moola a bit and help build a contender.

I forgot what did we just get for our 1st round pick Kenny Pickett in a the trade with the Eagles?

A 1st round pick for CeeDee Lamb who just turn 25 in April, The same age Kenny was his rookie year, I think I could live with that trade.

I said it would take more than a first round pick to get Lamb, the Cowboys aren't trading him he's their only real playmaker.

What these guys do with their money is their own prerogative. There's a reason that a lot of them end up broke, and its because they're idiots with it. But I don't care if its richer than most of us can dream of, it doesn't mean they have to just shut up and take what they're given. I've used leverage to get a better salary before... and if my employer doesn't want to pay me more, I can just go start applying and interviewing other places to get paid what I feel like I am worth. I honestly don't know how its any different, aside from the extra money involved. This is just normal human being stuff. Look out for you and yours... no one else is (the organization sure isn't). It is also important to keep in mind that holding out during training camp isn't a breach of contract, willfully sitting out games is. So they'll hold out, use whatever leverage they have to try to get what they want, then lace 'em up on Sunday because they don't get paid if they don't.

Keep in mind that the teams/GM's play the game too. They aren't out there for the interest of the player, they are trying to get these guys at the SMALLEST amount of money possible while the player is looking for the LARGEST amount for themselves. The organization doesn't care about the players. Maybe like a small handful, but most of them they care less than zero about. If someone tears their leg up and can't play again, that legally binding contract gets chopped up into a smaller injury settlement and the player is kicked to the curb. This isn't a lifelong profession.... the average NFL career is less than 3-1/2 years. If you have an opportunity to hit it big on a contract, take it. The next one is FAR from guaranteed.

We've traded a first round pick before (Minkah). I wouldn't get carried away with the offer, but trading a first round pick for Lamb is VERY reasonable.

The main issue is that Dallas is in "win now" mode. They would have to be pretty certain they have 0 shot at signing him long term to be willing to ship him out. They also might not care and try to win the Super Bowl this year anyways (and lose him for nothing in the offseason).

Just a 1st round pick for Lamb would be a bargain, but it's not going to happen

Chances are that you did not sign a multi year contract with your company. If you want to test the waters you can go and seek that opportunity out but when these guys sign 4 or 5 year contracts and then 2 years later tell them they want it ripped up for a better deal it’s not the same in my opinion. If the owners or coaches had any balls then they would sit these players for a couple games when they refuse to participate in practices and then it would really affect their next contract when they aren’t putting up the stats which affects their value.

Khan could convince the Cowboys that they are not in "win now" mode, because they haven't won a championship since 1995. If Khan can't pick Jerry Jones' pocket, then he is no longer the "Khan Artist."
