I do think there is opportunity, whether it materializes, the next few years will tell.

How about a young Herbig at LB, three young talents on the offensive line (after a terrible 2 or 3 years of oline), a developing JPJ, Benton? That is 6 players in the last two years of drafts.

In addition to the above, throw in Pickens (character to be determined) and young fellas in too-soon-to-tell Roman Wilson and Payton Wilson.

Are you saying you don’t see any potential in the last three drafts for the 9 players listed above?

This was funny 15 years ago in Moneyball - kudos for the throwback, but not very original.

Never seen money ball not a big Brad Pitt fan. I did like him in that Nazi movie though Inglorious Bastards. He was solid in Fight Club and Seven I suppose. Besides I’m not taking credit for the line I was laughing at Arch saying it.

Technically, it’s 38.8 million but how in the world don’t you jump on that chance? I can’t wait to be in that stadium watching Wilson play for the Steelers against the Bronco’s. Even if he plays poorly I can still tell the home fans that John Elways is up there in the owners box paying 95% of his salary. It will be even better if he somehow throws the winning TD pass in the closing minutes.

Moneyball is a good movie and I’m not a big Brad Pitt fan either.

That's Kahn, he's done a great job of infusing some talented new guys that can help this team get over that mediocre hump they've been stuck on for too many years, but whether or not the coaching is equally as talented to turn these guys into a cohesive unit, that's the big question. Also, they need at least a better than average QB, and I just don't see that as a possibility for at least the next couple of years. I'm hoping like hell the Steelers go 6-11 or even 5-12 so they can get a shot at drafting a potential franchise QB, but I'm sure Mediocre Mike will find a way to go 9-8 yet again

Newsflash: You don't last this long and have the highest winning percentage in Steelers history by being terrible .

I wouldn’t be singing Kahn’s praises just yet these guys need to prove it on the field. Broderick Jones is certainly not doing that so far although I do feel MT is screwing him up already putting him at RT.

He had a first ballet HOF QB getting 4 gimme wins a season for a decade vs those Ohio teams. In all seriousness he’s not a bad regular season coach. He’s just bad at everything else.

To me a coach's regular season winning percentage is irrelevant, the only thing that matters is his post-season record, and Tomlin's has been abysmal for the last 7 years now

To be clear - from your perspective, when Kahn assembles the draft, then he gets sole credit. Different from Colbert, especially in his last few years, where you are saying it’s 99 percent Tomlin?

Not really, I'd just like to see Tomlin win 1 lousy playoff game again before I die, that's if he's even lucky enough to make the playoffs. Is that too much to expect?

I was only joking about the 99%, but Tomlin deserves a lot of the blame for the Steelers being reduced to also-rans

I would too but to say regular season winning percentage is irrelevant is just a dumb statement. I’m sure if MT has a .212 winning percentage he would have been fired years ago.

Ok, so "irrelevant" may not have been the best word to use, but I still think his regular season winning percentage is overrated. I could give you some reasons WHY I think that, but I'm much too tired of going back and forth with you Tomlin apologists

Well the only thing that should matter is the Super Bowl, I mean if you get to playoffs and win a game or 2, you still get the same thing as all other 31 teams.
