I’m doing my annual away game tradition with my family. We have plenty of adventures planned for the five days that we will be there. I am very far away from being a miserable human being. Win or lose I will still have a great time making memories that will last a lifetime.

The offense looked great in pre season last year and were awful when the real players started playing. I’m going to try and hang on to that fact that preseason means next to nothing. I think the reason a lot of us are more worked up is besides being miserable horrible humans we are jaded from this terrible offense we have been watching for years. It’s like crap offense PTSD.

Agreed with the OP. Pre-season means absolutely nothing.
In fact, with this team, games on a week to week basis mean nothing.
Sometimes we look like the best team in the league, other times we look like the worst. Either scenario sometimes plays out for long stretches too. One thing I'm certain of, this season will be a roller coaster ride like every season is.

Maybe I look at things differently. Yes, it is just the pre-season. But it's the pre-season for the other 31 teams, also. It should be a measuring stick to see who is, and who isn't, doing the job they are being paid a boatload of money to do. Both players and coaches. There is no point to playing the games otherwise. Hopefully a light will suddenly go on when the season starts, unlike last season when the light was suddenly shut off.
