We can assess the QB play in real games. I think we have 2 for sure, potentially 3 QB's better than Pickett. We might need to squeak out some close ones early in the year if we are a bit slow to start... but with the new OC, new OL, new QB's, etc. we won't be peaking week 1. I have faith that we will improve.

 

End of the year schedule is so brutal a slow start would be detrimental although injuries at QB can change things quickly

 

The Steelers need help at WR Washington is available.

 

I think preseason we were considered to have the easiest schedule in the league in 2023... turned out to be the 4th hardest. It definitely sucks that our last 8 games contain 2 quality teams and all our divisional games, but can't get ahead of ourselves.

We all know Tomlin will have us win a game none of us thought we would and lose a game against a team drafting in the top 3 next season anyways lol We've seen this play out too many times.

 

I wonder if they run into Glemm in the hallway.

 

We are desperate for WR help but I’m thinking he’s just a complete bust at this point.

 

As much as I loathe Tomlin the man has sold his soul to the .500 or better devil.

Nobody on this team last night was able to replace DJ's route running ability to just get open and make the defense look like they were one step behind.

Russel Wilson's biggest problem last night was that his receivers were covered.

 

WOW, after leaving Dallas I was told that James Washington had retired to his farm down in Texas.

The last time he had a reception was for the Steelers in 2021.

You have to love the way Mason stands tall in the pocket and delivers the ball to the middle of the field. Just imagine what Arthur Smith could have done with this.

 

Again, I think most people here know the so called truth, but want to at least be somewhat optimistic about the upcoming season.

Glenn some people are half full and some are half empty that’s life man. Trust me I wish I could be more optimistic about the team I just see no reason to be. I don’t call everyone Fan Boys just a select few.

Stating facts is not bringing everyone down. It's reality. Reality is real and more often than not, not up.

 

I think the bigger problem was that the Bills defense had the Steelers vanilla offense scouted and locked in. It looked the same as it has for the last few years. Bring everyone down tight, jam receivers at the line, make TE's fight through crowded middle, stuff the run by overloading the 5 blockers. Only way to attack that is to make them pay the price, get guys behind them and make them play honest. Wilson had guys down in his face because they were that close to the line.

 

Yeah, the "Canada Effect" seems to be lingering on. I hope Arthur Smith is just saving his good stuff for the regular season

 

That was the perfect game to try some serious RPO or designed QB draws with Fields. Not that I want a Mick Vick style running QB but it would have forced a mismatch for the defense.
