Preseason week 2:Bills vs steelers

oh he's injured. oh he's out of position. oh it's the coach. at some point the player has to play up to his status. jones did not. there were times last year he was rolled onto his azz too. just because he was drafted in the first round the players against him are paid too and they don't care. ryan leaf was a first rounder too. it's time to put up.

 

No,this is just he is not that good and when he is your top 2 lineman for a game,this is not good for your team when we saw last night

 

I refuse to give the benefit of doubt to our coaching staff at the o-line position when we saw how good and better Dotson was last year with the Rams and his bad habits he had with us, like penalties were gone because he had better coaching and also he was playing his natural position...Our o-line coach is trash

 

O-line issue since Ben's days, but with all different players. There's one constant for sure here.

I'm hoping this is some pre-season trick to not give away the amazing new o-line play that will be ready for the real season. Or something like that.

 

Aiyuk's talent would be wasted with the QB's we have now. Let's get a real QB first, then we can try to acquire a high level WR

 

By comparison Wilson looks absolutely tiny out there.

 

One concern I always had with Jones was his limited sample size at UGA. I think he had 19 starts at left tackle over two seasons. Maybe the grind of an NFL season last year caught up with him. That and the fact nearly every teammate was a stud may have made him appear to be a much better player than he is. I hope not, because it points to piss poor, lazy scouting. That, and the o-line Coach Moore must be a poor teacher. I'd ride with the kid at left tackle and put Fautanu at right tackle when he's healthy. Moore is your swing tackle, Frazier at center backed up by Nate Herbig and let's see if they can gel. Until then, I'm very concerned about Jones. That, and I'm not convinced of Moore's ability to coach this group up. If jones struggles at his natural position, then hope like hell Dan Moore can at least be adequate and cut down on his annoying pre snap flags.

 

Hopefully, we are just holding our hands like in poker. Really cant gauge much in preseason. But, when a former starting qb cant do much against a bunch of backups and wannabes not so good. But, on the other hand, Fields didnt have starters helping him either. Just hope for the best.

I see another year where the media gaslights us on what great coach tomlin is and we suck. Our o line is a mess, our run D is a mess and our offense is garbage. Preseason or not we look terrible. Someday we will do a full housecleaning but as long as we eek out 500 ball its going to be years.

 

Yeah, but people seem to think once the real season starts all of these issues are going to magically disappear

 

100% fantasy. No way we should look that bad for a team supposedly a player away from a run. What planet are these people on? Tomlin should start wearing a ski mask to work every day!!

But this is never good when your starter look awful,no matter the preseason record.....Remember in 2013 when the o-line was awful during the entire preseason?...It continue in the regular season and they were winless in september with a 0-4 record for the first time since 1968

 

Bro you honestly think the upside is 11 wins with what you are seeing, preseason or not?

I am saying that with our draft, FA, yadda yadda - I had 11 as an upside.

but 7, even 6 is very real.

we are a razor thin close games team - our defense will win games and keep us close

lots of 15 - 12 games this year, 17 - 16, etc......

Russ HAS to throw downfield - OC has to call plays on first down to soften the Defense, to allow us to run. IF that box has 8 in it all day, we are in deep trouble.
