I like Aiyuk, but with the money that’s being discussed I hope he stays in San Fran. I think that the pay scale for WRs (in terms of % of cap) has blown up too much. Couple that with significant draft pick and/or player compensation in trade, and it feels too rich. Especially for a player who isn’t even a top 5 player at his position.

Why would you want to leave a team that is very close to going to Superbowl? I understand it is money. When i was growing up it was about winning,, greed kills. When will people figure this out?! Plus, for the millionth time, how good will BA be without the offensive weapons they have in SAN FRAN? One poster stated he led team in receptions, no duh, JUJU MVP when AB was here, not so much after AB left. Moral of this story, you can be much better with talent all around you.

If this BA deal falls through, are we going to pursue CEE DEE LAMB? Me personally, lets do it through the draft process.

I am on page 1 of a 21 page thread but why do I read they want two first round draft picks. No way I'm giving 2 first round draft picks for a WR, NFW. So for the love of God I hope that is not what we decide to give up. We are nowhere close to a Super Bowl and will need blue chip first round picks the next couple years to fill holes. Well 21 pages to find out what you guys say about this!!

Of course they want that but a first and a third seems to be around the going rate if you look at the AJ Brown and Davante Adam’s trades. I still think even that is too much when you also have to pay him straight away.

They have the cap room but this team is not a WR away from being a legit contender.

Sounds like they have a potential deal in place, but Aiyuk is still deciding to stay or go. Steelers are in wait and see mode for the response.

I do agree. Not many at looking to win like they used too.

But Brandon is taking a cut from 30 to 26. And while I know taxes are a concern. Games are taxed in each state it's played in.

As for San Francisco being closer to winning a ring. I think the Steelers are there, they just need to get their post season collapse out of their head.

How far are you going back??? Every time Ben signed a new contract he became the Highest paid QB in the League. AB's last Steeler contract made him the highest paid WR in the League. The Steelers were trying to make Lev Bell the highest paid RB in the league, but he wanted WR money and the Steelers said no. Are you rolling it all the way back to the 70s?

And, I am on the other side of the fence who believe Aiyuk's numbers will go up, because he is not competing with 5 other Super-Stars for receptions.

I still think the Steelers would have been better off keeping DJ for $18 million and bringing in another CB, or hell when the Steelers were on the clock at #20 they had their pick of CBs (Quinyon Mitchell or Terrion Arnold), as no CBs had been drafted yet.

Way back. Btw, didnt Ben take a paycut not once but twice? So the Steelers could sign other players?

I could see the Chiefs now getting involved in the Aiyuk sweep stake with Rice facing Jail time (8 Felony Charges Pending) and Hollywood Brown now injured.

That's what Ben said, reality was (at least on the last cut) was take less or retire.
