Matakevich was signed for special teams, I don't think he will play many snaps on defense.

I'm sure Fields would've looked better if the OL played good, Fautanu gave up two sacks and Herbig is partly to blame for two bad snaps. Talk about a ridiculous overreaction .

Nope, you trying to bash a guy for a vanilla gameplan with shaky OL play is ridiculous overreaction .

True that the o-line need to be better and I am a Fields supporter but the 2 fumble snap was on him last night

Well, Herbig took the blame for the bad snaps it's not just on Fields.

He is at 1-2 injury away at this position to become a starter.Maybe the steelers will gave a phone call at Myles Jack if Matakevich need to be a starter but the steelers have only 3 good player at this position

Lol, you talk about overreacting then say I "bash" a guy. Get a grip son. I also said he had few nice completions. I never said he was terrible, it just wasn't good. If you think he was , then you probably loved Kenny Pickett too.
He had an opportunity and didn't do anything with it imo. Nothing more nothing less.

Maybe being subjective is part of your problem instead of being objective. It's almost like you and some others fight against any and all optimism. Clearly this team has a lot of question marks but you act as though they're the worst team in the league. There's never been a "wait and see" approach with you, you go immediately to the "they suck" attitude. If they do, go ahead and pat yourself on the back. I don't know what to tell you man, piss and moan the whole season if it makes you feel better but if you're gonna call some of us out for wearing rose colored glasses, expect to be called out for being doom and gloom.
Also, I would like to add that I have my own share of complaints during the game and in those threads so it's not like I'm only drinking the kool-aid. I just mix mine with vodka.

In college he was handsy as well. He needs to train and cover without so much grabbing. A guy like Flacco would love it back in the day

I'm a Fields critic, but the O line did him no favors or justice. Texans had many of their starters playing on D, unlike Steelers.

It's preseason. It's pointless to hit the panic button.

Some coaches use the boxing glove method to reduce handsy db's

He need something that is for sure. I suspect he gets away with a ton of grabbing as well.

Maybe he needs to work on his footwork also, I was at training camp last Tuesday and Minka was working
with some younger db's on some footwork technique. JP jr, needs to work on something because officials will catch up with him.

Maybe I'm in the minority but I'm going to be able to live with one penalty per game for Porter if he continues to shut down the opposing receiver for the rest of the game.Sometimes we have to take the good with the bad

I say one penalty per game since the leader in the NFL for penalties for a CB last year, it was about that

I would only agree if its not at a crucial time when the penalties are mounting and we are down by 14 The only time I will except PI is when there is no other option for the DB and it will prevent a TD
