I know it’s week 1 of pre-season, but will this team ever have a solid group of DB’s? Keep telling myself it’s 1 preseason game x 100

And the bad snaps stopped once they got Herbig out of the game .

gotta remember, the Texans completely loaded via 10,000 losing seasons. It will take a few games for us to get some footing. Fields was accurate and they were rotating the line a lot which allowed pressure.

Talk about fans overreacting to a preseason game

Texans used it a lot though. That's why they were chopping up the pass defense. Looked like middle-out and outside-in stuff.

Fields had a couple decent completions. The line had it's issue for sure. Like I said, I'm trying to put it all into perspective and it's week 1 preseason.
I didn't see very good pocket or pressure awareness on some of the plays that a Vet like Fields (a mobile one at that)should be able to deal with.
He didn't do anything to question an aging Russell Wilson from running this offense imo. It was an opportunity for him to do that.
There are 3 more preseason games so it's far from over.

There are two more preseason games left not three, Fileds isn't winning the starting job that was all media hype.

If he plays like he did yesterday, you're right, he won't be the starter.
He had an opportunity for something and didn't sieze it. Exactly the context of my post.

I’d like to see more of Dejuan. He looks quick.

Do you think they were actually going to run any plays or looks that will be used in a regular season game? Week one will look different and he may have a chance then. He threw the ball to where they told him to accurately. Pickett could not has completed any of the passes he threw last night. The one that should have been reviewed was a great throw for the situation

I expected to see a guy who's been in the league, and a starter at that, to showcase his athleticism to try and sieze an opportunity. That's all.
I didn't expect any playcalling other than vanilla, but athletes show out in preseason games all the time.
I've stated multiple times he made some nice throws at times but that's about it. Made some mistakes and looked average. Not exactly compelling.

There was no throw that Fields made last night that Kenny Pickett couldn't in my humble opinion. And I'm not a fan of Kenny Pickett.

Cracks me up all these youtube talking heads reporting about how great players look in training camp but this is not what we get in a game. I invested way too much time watching those videos and buying into the hype. I feel like a fool.

Yeah Edwards gave the team a spark when he came into the game. He was Georgia's leading rusher last season, so he has played some big time football.

The Steelers will finally get their below .500 this year. The last 8 games of this season are as brutal I have ever seen for an NFL team.

I stopped watching almost all preseason shows or info. Absolute waste of time and life. They are wrong 99% of the time and the other 1% is BS lies.

Yeah, that's how they should use him, in a "Slash" kind of role. They know the guy can run, guess they wanted to see what he can do with his arm

I was more impressed with Kyle Allen than Justin Fields despite the fact that Allen missed a wide open receiver in end zone. Fields still shows the weaknesses he had as a Chicago Bear....stares down his receiver, doesn't anticipate well, can't read defenses, no pocket awareness. Third and anything longer than 3, he won't be able to convert as he will scramble into defense or check down short of a first down. I rather have Josh Dobbs than this guy.

I didn’t have anything against him last year, but he missed so many open guys. I mean just missed. Or he held the ball and would t throw it. Some guys can’t hit a target, ole’ Trubisky missed 3-4 today as usual.

There was a lot of this stuff. The guy was wide open.
