Watkins think he is a superstar and doesn't have to show anything on punt returns. I wouldn't be surprised if he is cut this week.

Just hoping Fields does not have to start any games that count this year.

They were inserting different O linemen throughout the game, series in-series out. Not unusual in preseason.

So do the Steelers, lol. I mean they're even worse than the Bears, they keep picking up their busts. No need to even mention KFP

Middle of the field seemed to work for the Texans on that TD throw.

Agree. Tomlin needs to use preseason for practice at winning challenges.

Fields; slow to get off first reads, holds ball a long time (especially considering the Steelers OL), not an overly precise passer, and is not consistent when pressured.

Ah, yes. The running QB. Welp, if he can't be a great passer maybe he can make up for it with a couple thousand yards rushing this season :lolol:

I’m told that’s the future of quarterbacking. Last night I didn’t see anything from Fields that was terribly positive or negative. He had a few average NFL reads and throws. No wows and no ughs. That’s a bit better than I expected, and if he maintains that while also adding in a handful of big runs and big downfield throws I would expect the offense to run better than it did with Pickett or Trubisky. For whatever that’s worth.

TOMLIN is a turd but preseason game results mean nothing. Being sloppy however if it doesn’t get cleaned up is not a good indicator.

Definitely my thoughts. He played ok enough to make me comfortable as a spot starter, but not good enough to give me confidence that he's rising to the challenge to steal the job from Wilson.

Tomlin needs to use Pre Season practice BEING A BETTER COACH!!

    ;);)

So, #1, he thinks Herbig is our best option at Starting Center - WRONG.

I will start a list now.....

If his plan is to line up Dan Moore as Starter Week 1, that will be bullet point #2. Tomlin keeps being Tomlin......which is why we sit on the playoff bubble, ~.500 year in and year out.

Remember - Tomlin was the BIG FAN of Pickett, watched him at Pitt for years - and was all in on drafting him. He was part of the NO PLAN for transition from Ben, he and Colbert. No plan , when we all saw the writing on wall all the way back in 2019.

    It is 2024 now......

same way Canada kept his job… and tomlin is keeping his job. Not sure what that is, but they’ve figured out the formula.

I wonder what your thoughts will be around week 10 when it's still happening.
