Im sure Fields 40 turnovers had nothing to do with anything

And when Mahomes had no OL against the Buccaneers in the Super Bowl he sucked , no QB is winning without being surrounded by talent. Fields also had Nagy and Eberflus as HC .

Fields had only 26 turnovers in 28 starts in the last 2 years....13 in each years

Turnovers that were lost… put 12 more fumbles in there that were fortunate that their offense recovered

Oh, so now Fields can be as equally as good as Mahommes with a great OL and coaches? Really? Wow. That air in Cali must be nice
And Fields will have better pocket presence and will be able to read defenses? Got it
A quick question, since you gave Fields a pass with his coaches, do you give KFP a pass for having Canada and Tomlin?

I also count the fumble lost in this stats....A fumble when he was very close to be on the sideline after a run or other fumble with no chance for the opposing defense to recover, this is not a concern for me

I never said that my point is no QB was going to be successful with the Bears during that time.

I don't think his rookie season in 2021 will have much impact about now for him.....

It will be hard for Fields to have the trust for some steelers fans no matter what he do....Even if he is as good that Lamar is in the regular season,it will not be enough for some because of his style.I don't know if he has very good playoff run with that would be enough unless he won the super bowl

so when do these stats win ball games. I think number of TD’s are more important. Last I knew that getting the ball into the ENDZONE is what matters.

I like Russell Wilson, but he is only a short term fix no matter how well he does. I would not be overly enthusiastic if he were given a long-term deal after this season due to his age. If he helps Justin Fields develop even further, that will be great. I would much rather invest the time in Fields and hope he becomes the franchise. Why play around with the QB situation for another year or two only go back to square 1 a year or two from now.

This reminds me of back in the day when Tomczak was the starting QB and they would bring in Kordell for the goal line package. Usually a QB sneak into the endzone. Best line I heard was Frank Gifford on MNF say: "It's like Tomczak takes the girl to the dance and Kordell kisses her goodnight." :roflmao:

Weird, I don't know what this means. In Thursday's walk-thru practice for Friday's game Russell Wilson took all the 1st team reps.

    POST GAME THOUGHT....
You have to wonder if having Nate Herbig give all his snaps to Russell Wilson on Thursday's walk through was such a good idea now???

russ will get lots of work this week and in PS games 2 and 3 - assuming he is not in much pain and in risk of any further injury.

if there is further injury risk, the SEASON is at risk - that is for sure!!

One Preseason game has not changed my outlook at all on Fields. Yes, it was rough to watch; horrible in some cases. However, the playmaking ability and the dynamic capabilities are still there.

Again, Fields' near immeasurable raw talent didn't vanish due to one Preseason game. Moreover to the point, if it wasn't proven already, the 2023 Pittsburgh Steelers Preseason should serve as an excellent reminder as to never judge a book by its cover. Arthur Smith isn't laying out the entire 2024 Steelers Offense in the preseason and much less one game.

The biggest factor no one has discussed is, while the Offensive Line will be much better this season, for it to get to that point, it is going to endure some growing pains; both literally and figuratively. Zach Frazier, for all intensive purposes, is the Week One starter. Even though Troy had some tough moments against Danielle Hunter, need I remind people that Danielle Hunter is one of the most underrated pass rushers in all of Football. An All Pro EDGE giving a Rookie Offensive Tackle trouble shouldn't be that surprising in the slightest; if at all. Mason McCormick will start in 2025 but something tells me that the Steelers may need him to start much sooner should injuries pile up.

Long story short?! Poor first game of the preseason but not the end of the world for the likes of the young Offensive Line and most notably, Justin Fields. Expect Fields and the Offensive Line to bounce back.

THOSE stats, turnovers. can lose games, games that could have or should have been won. Who was the QB for TB that had over 30 td passes...but nearly as many Int's. Yes, it matters.
