Bender stars yet again

 

When the Dog Days kick in for the Bucs, they kick in with a vengeance. Hoping it wouldn't happen again, we all knew it was coming. What's ironic is with as miserable as the rest of the NLC is playing this year, it took a really hard tanking to find their way to the bottom, where they now sit likely for the remainder of this now waste of a season (again). Even Keller and Skenes seem to have gotten the memo to just let it go.

 

Need to go 18-27 to achieve 74 wins

 

I'll finally win the prediction poll on another board if this happens. Past 10 years I have missed winning by 1 game 4 times.

74 wins not looking good at this point. Pirates have totally just tanked. Probably won’t win a game on this west coast trip. Unbelievable! Thank you Shelton, had a chance to be 4 over 500 at home, but back to back games you brought in doughboy Bednar and ruined season.

 

They may tie the record white sox just set this year with 21 losses in a row.

 

No starting pitcher will help this team unless they pitch a complete game. Bullpen blows like a hooker in the backseat of a Ford

 

I was so tempted to sign on for the half-priced MLB TV package at the All-Star break as they appeared to be finally rising - but a little birdie told me to wait and see. You can watch condensed games on MLB.com after the fact, assuming they ever win again this year. That works for me.

 

same stuff different year is all. We need a new manager badly but we also need some real talent. Bednar is a joke. Get rid of him. We just don't have the offense either. But the game management is horrendous. Yet on we go.

 

If I didn't get it for free this season I would have bit at the ASB. I always wait and see. So glad I had it or I'd have been really PO'd buying after ASB.

It was a fun cruise while it lasted.

 

Know this Pirate faithful. Way back in 1925 when them battling Bucs won their 2nd World Series a very talented 13 year old was celebrating his city's Championship. His dream after that WS victory was to play for the Pittsburgh Pirates. I don't know how true this is but I heard tales of him "Singing in the Rain" all over East Liberty.

Gene Kelly was an avid Pirate fan. He got to see 4 of the 5 WS's. Pretty sure that instead of singing in the rain he is turning in the grave over the state of his beloved team.

HBO had the movie on and it jarred my memory. I actually bought a baseball cap with the 2025 Championship embroidered on it.
