QB battle

This is where I am at for this year's expectation.
Neither of these QBs are the answer imo.

 

I remember he came in with the Vikings right? He had a couple, maybe three good games that had Steelers fans/Tomlin bashers claiming the Steelers missed on Dobbs. Tomlin fails again. That was last season. So...my tongue in cheek comment about Dobbs being successful just last season had more to do with that than him actually becoming an NFL quality QB.

I understand Madden is a hater, but makes sense.

 

The point for my post was in response to "KP had less interceptions because he threw more short passes". I showed that there was not a lot of differences in the short and intermediate passing between these QBs.

JFields = 5.1
RWilson = 7.5
KPickett = 5.1

pass att 19+ yards:

JFields = 3.8
RWilson = 3.7
KPickett = 2.3

 

Don't compare Trubisky to Fields.....In the last game in Chicago for Fields,the crowd was chanting we want Fields a lot in that game, so he had his moments, he was just inconsistent... If the panthers wouldn't have been that bad, which is why the bears had the number 1 pick, Fields would still be in Chicago.... I'm not saying Fields is going to be good to us, but he deserves a shot at some point.... Chicago had enough of Trubisky, very early, big difference from the we want Fields at the end.Madden know nothing again

 

Tomlin does not tolerate turnovers. If Fields maintained that pace this season as our starter, he would not be back next season. Mike has a few tells. That is one of them.

 

A lot of camp click bait articles: I fully expect Wilson to be starter this year.

Another Madden take.. take it for what it is

 

Mark Madden has always been toxic and a all-time jerk

 

I remember not long ago fans were chanting Kenny Kenny. How did that work out. Fields probably a HOF playstation qb. Thats it… end of story. Keep drinking the kool-aid that the click baiters are giving you.
Also, addressing giving Fields a shot, 3 years isnt enough of a shot? Or do you think that the Steelers are going to develop him better than da Bears? You didnt think that way about Mitch when we got him did you?

 

Yet he is still getting paid for his opinions… hmmm

 

Please the fans were chanting Kenny only when Trubisky was our starter and before the first career game for him and when it was the honeymoon....The honeymoon was long gone for Fields last year in Chicago and my point was just that he was way more liked than Trubisky....Fields may not be the future for the steelers but he has a much better chance than Trubisky to be good

 

That last part really isnt saying much. Look , Steelers really didnt risk anything for Fields or Wilson, so we will see how it plays out. Once again noone in the league was busting down doors for either of these qbs! But, somehow narrative flipped, they only want to play for Tomlin. Come on

I know that but it was the reason why I mentionned Trubisky since this is so lazy as comparaison!

 

Steelers really bad track record in my lifetime with qbs. Ill name the good ones much easier.

Mitch did take Bears to playoffs. Fields 10-28 . Didnt get team out of driveway

 

The bears had one of the best defense with Trubisky from 2018 to 2020.....The bears defense were the worst in the league in 2022 and they were not much better in the first half last season....They were better in the second half and they finish the season at 4-2

Yes Fields has his flaws but the W-L record need some context

 

Put Mahomes on those Bears teams and they wouldn't win either.
