What does Dan Moore have on Tomlin?

Yea the reason is Tomlin is a stubborn moron.

 

That means nothing in today’s nfl. We run the nickel or hybrids if that more than anything.

 

I get the notion of earning your keep, but Jones has earned it IMO. He should be playing LT primarily and competing for that spot. Fautanu should be competing for RT. Moore theoretically should be competing for both. He would have a better chance at winning the RT job simply because he is competing against a rookie, but seemingly he is incapable of playing RT... so realistically, beat Jones out at LT or be the back up LT. Cook would be back up RT. We didn't draft T's in the first round of back to back drafts to impede their development at their position to accommodate a mediocre player on the last year of his deal, are we?

Moore seems like a great team guy. He's a below average starting caliber player at his position. He isn't signed past the season... what are we doing?

 

He should take snaps at both LT and RT to be ready to back up both positions period,

I think Tomlin is good at player evaluation. His issue is he thinks so highly of himself that he believes he can coach guys up alot of coaches are like this. I just don’t understand how with some guys he is quick to yank them and then others he gives them unendless grace.

 

well - that might be one in the same? Stuck with Edmunds waaaaay to long, as an example. Coach him up, or just poor player eval? and then - on the OLINE - the kid we booted / traded last year - RT - name escaping me right now, he is excelling elsewhere.

The idea is to have Fautanu showcase he can play the Right Tackle spot both proficiently and efficiently. Among the guesses I could make, this one makes the most sense. However, perhaps Broderick's injury is a bit more serious than the team is letting on; prompting them to have Dan Moore start there for the time being.


Injury or not however, Broderick should already be seeing more First Team reps than Moore has been seeing already.

pretty much like i said, they are getting everybody reps at many positions, even the backups. new offense. troy is a rookie and learning. nothing is set yet. they will try to be ready for all situations. now is the time to do it.

 

Moore is AVG at BEST. TROY needs to START DAY 1 and LEARN on the job, so that by MID SEASON, he will be much improved.

It's a 17 game season, plus preseason, playoffs. I wouldn't be so enamoured about shipping anyone off along the offensive line. Read the article, troy is learning. We may need them all before it's over.

If they plan on playing Troy at guard (as rumor has it), then he was a wasted pick. No guard is worth a 1st round pick IMO.
