We will likely hear more about this throughout the week or weeks to follow. While the 49ers claim there is no current trade discussion, expect that part to ramp up considerably. If anything, the 49ers are on borrowed time here.

The more they wait, the more Trent Williams can say "to hell with it" and force their hand. Remember that Tristian Wirfs just got paid as the highest Offensive Lineman in NFL History. While I doubt that the 49ers will give Trent that much, I do expect John Lynch and the 49ers FO to come close within the Penei Sewell deal.

Why?! Outside of Trent Williams, who else does San Francisco have as far as Offensive Lineman go?!

The Browns have $29 million in cap space this year, the Steelers only have $15 million (per overthecap.com).
Next year, however, the Browns are already almost $60 million over the cap, while the Steelers are $78 million under.

If there is a will, there is a way in the NFL.

While the Eagles is nowhere near the help of WR talent that Pittsburgh is, Brett Kollmann does break it down on how teams can maneuver around the Salary Cap. More can be found below!

Right, this is what I mean. There’s always a way to kick the can down the road for a year, but they have some big cap bills coming due. If they make a deal it reeks of desperation to do anything they can for this year.

I'm sorry I just can't see them paying 28 to 30 mill a season. For how long? And its going to be major guaranteed money. Oh there is the pick compensation.

So you are going to have to pay a QB next season. Pricey. Then they want to extend Cam Heyward. 16 to 18 I would think.

Just can't see letting a 1st or 2nd round pick go when you need to address the Defensive Line. And possibly drafting a QB. Or Strong Safety. Or Corner.

If it happens it best reap benefits.

Never mind any of that. What is going to be the compensation... as you said?! The only major aspects for me that are popping up are picks and a player. That said, no player comes to mind. Dan Moore?!?!... extremely unlikely.

That said, if Kahn pulls that off... man........ that might be a bigger form of highway robbery than the Chase Claypool for Joey Porter Jr swap. That said though, John Lynch has done this for a while now and isn't a fool.

You don't trade Pickens and Diontae in the same offseason, when receiver is already your weakest position .

The old man in me is hoping the 49ers are fining the living Daylights out of Trent Williams.

Trent Williams is 36 years old and still has 3 years left on his contract. "Come-on Man" Why are you holding out old-man???

    Slow your roll their partner.

The Steelers were in great shape at the WR position, before Khan trade away DJ.

If the Steelers had DJ right now, you would be saying that the Steelers have the strongest WR room in the division.

The Steelers would hang up the phone on the 49ers if they asked for Jones .

Well... they waived the fines for Nick Bosa if I recall last season. I seriously doubt they will fine their best Offensive Lineman.

Even so, Trent isn't budging and the 49ers better make a decision soon. Trading Aiyuk sooner rather than later is going to alleviate a lot of that tension. Besides, drafting Ricky Pearsall should have signaled the beginning of the end for Aiyuk and/or Deebo anyways.

On a serious note... Jedrick Willis for Aiyuk?!

    That would make sense.
