TJ Watt was named the 8th best player in the NFL by his peers. I actually laughed out loud when I read the ridiculousness of this list. Patrick Mahomes was ranked #4, 2 spots behind Lamar Jackson at #2 and Tyreek Hill was ranked #1. Joe Burrow was ranked #39 but Dak Prescott was ranked #16 and Jalen Hurts #15. Of course Myles Garrett was the highest rated defensive player at #5. The list was totally absurd.

Lamar Jackson at #2 proves that it’s more about entertainment value than winning.

This is supposedly voted on by the players, I will take Mahomes #1 every day of the week.

Tyreek Hill is not even the best current WR in the NFL. JJ is better. AB in his prime was clearly better than Tyreek.

The fact Lamar is ahead of Mahomes really says it all. List is worthless

I just don't see him winning as many SB's as that other guy. No doubt Mahomes is a bad ass MOFO but the defense of the Chiefs was a huge reason they won last seasons Playoffs.

Curious how many players voted? And how many made a vote out of friendship?

It worked. I had to take an extra Lisinopril after reading the list.

They say the players vote on this list but like any pole it can be manipulated in such way to force the outcome that you want. In what world is Lamar Jackson over Patrick Maholmes? It makes no sense at all.

In a world where flash matters more than substance. There’s no doubt that LJ is a highlight machine like no other when he takes off with the football.

It was purely substance with Brady and he was undoubtedly #1 in his era. How quickly times change. He hasn't been gone that long.

There are a few factors that can cause it and yes, genes are probably #1. Alcohol and salt are big ones too. You have to weigh your priorities and I think Alcohol wins out on that one.:smiley1::drinks:

So is Mahomes. No look passes and holding up a Super Bowl trophy is pretty darn flashy in my eyes. These lists the NFL constantly creates are meant to stimulate interest and arguments among the fan bases. They have gotten more ridiculous over the years for the very purpose are creating clicks. It would be boring if it were Watt as the number one edge and Mahomes as the mvp every year.

    Absurd?!

I found the list to be comical when I didn't even see one Center on the list. Hell, not even seeing Jaylon Johnson of the Chicago Bears was all I needed to grab popcorn and watch the proverbial fireworks fly! :lolol:

TJ's ranking doesn't surprise me at all.

At least it is voted on by players peers supposedly and that has a margin of error to reflect the idiocy. I’m sure next year it will be AI influenced.

I'm pretty sure that the Illuminati, the bilderberg group, the center for foreign policy, and a few other shadowy organizations had a hand in the defensive player of the year voting last year.
