True but QB like that are really hard to find....The only thing you can do is play your QB to his strengths

If they just play to the strengths of our team, The Steelers would improve 30%. Canada's philosophy seem to be try harder to make my crappy plays work. I never saw any effort to play to the strengths of different players and abilities of the team. There were never halftime or anytime game adjustments to take advantage of an opposing team's weakness or to plug holes on our side. It was always just continue doing what we're doing but try harder.

I have high hopes for Arthur Smith. From a lot of the videos I've been watching on YouTube for the Steelers training camp, it definitely seems like there's a lot of changes happening. I'm looking forward to them.

Yes,it was a major problem.....Even Haley was not very good to attack of an opposing team's weakness...Still a good OC but he had some weak point.....Canada was good at nothing!

Not at all, many talented QBs have failed. If you can’t grasp the game it won’t make much difference in the end.

His turnovers were down last year.

Canada affect muddys everything. Preseason you are just running a no frills game plan.

What happened to make the accuracy he had in preseason disappear.

Oh yeah, Fields is starting. Look at Smith. He has so many more options game planning with Fields.

Anthony Richardson’s running was an asset to the Colts, but he played a game and a half and then missed the following week with an injury suffered on a designed run, then returned and suffered a season ending injury in week 5 on a designed run. He took 173 snaps. If you’re putting your QB in harms way as part of your offensive scheme, you’re playing with fire. I believe that the appropriate way for a QB’s running ability to be used is the way Mahomes uses it sparingly and as a supplement to the passing game, plus maybe the occasional surprise QB draw. That way doesn’t work if the QB isn’t a good passing/thinking QB.

Mike Florio is a clown. He also said in the last season during the playoffs that Andy Reid was thinking about retirement....during the offseason Reid signed a contract extension until 2029.He was wrong so many other time

Mahomes just never seems to take a hit. He's so shifty when he runs. Smart when it comes to career longevity. Josh Allen just wants to truck people.

I keep hearing about Russell Wilson's experience, but not about Justin Fields 40 games played in the NFL experience.

The way they keep talking about experience you would think that Justin Fields was a rookie. I am sick and tired of hearing that the Steelers have to go with Wilson because he has more experience; right now, they are both tied having no experience in Arthur Smith's offense.

    May the BETTER man Win!

The Steelers obviously have a future QB issue. Wilson and Fields are both short term fixes for cheap. We do not have a viable rookie to step into the role for a bargain price. We could draft a rookie for 2025, but the chances of a 2025 draft rookie being the 2025 starter are exceptionally slim. So, come 2025 we are going to have to spend some money on a QB. It is either going to be another temporary 'Khan magic' fix for a bargain price, or it is going to be Justin Fields. Justin Fields is going to want to get paid. He probably won't get Lamar Jackson money, but I expect he will be in the middle of the pack somewhere if he has a decent showing this year.

Wilson being hurt and pushing Fields into the starting role is probably hurting the Steelers financially. If Fields played some, but not all year, then the Steelers could probably sign him for a decent price. However, if he plays a lot and does well, it is going to cost us to retain him. Wilson seems to be losing ground on the starting job. Right now, Fields is holding all the cards for his future. He is getting the chance to force the issue about who should be the starter. If he seizes that chance, next year will be an expensive year for the QB spot.

I usually don’t bother with them because it’s usually Dulac but was too intrigued by this one.

I am not following. Probably just me. Why would a rookie from the 2025 draft not be the starter?

Opposing Def Cor game planning and Canada unable to adjust. Easy predictable offense to defend.

Preseason, more about evaluating, than game management, planning and adjustments

My 2 cents: I respect Wilson for all he has done in his career (minus the interception against the Pats in the last seconds of the Super Bowl) --but Fields is the future. Start him from day 1 -Don't wait until it's too late. Wilson has nothing left in the tank. I would be so excited if it were Fields.

Thats the chance they took when this route was chosen. When they did not exercise Fields 5th year option (understandable) it created the opportunity to lose him, pay a huge amount to tag him, or have to possibly pony up big bucks, I seem to recall an effort to try and get an extension, likely the sort of thing Green Bay did with Love when they did not pick up his 5th year option. You see the money he ,made after only putting it together for half a year.

Thing is it's going to cost them bucks if either has even a decent looking season. That or plod along with yet a different QB.

I will be so excited for the future of the team if Fields wins the Battle. But, Fields must win the QB1 spot first.

I doubt if Wilson is anything like Trubisky---The only concern with Wilson is age and injury:hmm:

I have never doubted his talent, and understand his original landing spot did not do much for him. That said, my fear going forward is having to make a big investment in a guy going forward with possibly only one good to decent year. Can't speculate the future, eventually the team is going to have to pony up big bucks in the QB department, all we can really do is hope it works out.
