2024 steelers training camp

From what I hear, Russ is more into weight training than most QB's as well. They may have to pull the reigns back on him a bit. Not a spring chicken anymore.

 

I just got into town and will be there tomorrow. Missed last year, but went several years in a row before that.

 

I heard Roman Wilson was practicing kick returns today.

I was kind of curious to see who would step-up on KRs, if Cordarrelle Patterson is not able to go.

 

I have never heard of a block sled being part of the conditioning drill players have to pass before being allowed to start training camp. They usually talk about the running.

I think you may be right that there is a possibility that Russell Wilson was screwing around with the blocking sled and injured himself.

colletto, leal, wilson, seem to be shinning as well as bishop so far. all good things if it keeps up. old school football? pound them into submission. i like it.

 

Never been but looking at the pictures it's doesn't seem fan friendly. Looks like you sit on grass and seem further away then I thought. I assumed they had bleachers. Still cool to do and it seems sitting further back gets you a better view unless you are very tall.

 

They do have bleachers at Latrobe.

 

Someone said after mini-camp that one minute Fields looked like Ben, then would look like Mark Malone. The different YT feeds seem to like to highlight the good throws, then either omit or downplay the erratic times. I have no idea if Fields play turned into a top 10 QB, the talent is there, some QB's do evolve, but I don't want to put any long term investment until I see than what could be a few games of being 'good'.

 

There are bleachers, and you can always take a blanket/chairs and get closer to the fence (but a lot of it is on an incline). Its usually really hot, though.

There are some shady spots, and there's a decent sized gift shop that is covered and provides plenty of shade if you need a break from the sun.

 

We are here and all set. About 25 minutes until practice starts.

 

Russ is suited up, so I assume he’s actually going to practice today.

 

Again......I didn't see it....I'm going off what it said....it Clearly says Pickens was open(does it not), but it never said Austin was.

 

I believe one said He was like 5 of 16 yesterday. That's not good at all.

So far, it’s just been Fields and Kyle Allen.

 

Out of the four times we’ve been to training camp, this is the first time Tomlin actually addressed the crowd before starting.

 

The second day he supposedly looked better, it really means nothing until the pads are on and game actions starts. One guy noted when he has time to process it looks good, when rushed he seems to fall apart. Now that can be new system, etc, but it also is the nature that leads to so many turnovers. While certain things can be taught and one can mature, there comes a time where NFL processing speed is either there or not, some guys get it quicker, others say it came in the second or 3rd year, this is the 45th year for a guy with a lot of NFL starts.

 

Yeah the bleachers are metal and if it is a sunny day you will fry sitting there. What we usually do is get there as early as possible and set up our camping chairs under the trees behind the far goalposts.

 

I will say this, Roman Wilson looked exceptionally good today. Very impressed with what I saw from him.
