Burrow wants a Gold Medal.

Today he said that he would like to win a Gold medal in the 2028 Olympics while playing flag football. LOL. Maybe Brady will come out of retirement for that QB protection too. China Joe will still probably get injured during his fashion show.

 

Actually winning a gold medal at the Olympics would be a cool thing. Plus Qbs would be doing the same thing with less danger. I dreamed of winning a gold medal in the Olympics in boxing as a kid....too bad I wasn't good enough to even get there

 

I've just started following boxing again since Tyson. I think ESPN has fights ever week.

 

At least once a month. Last Saturday I seen one of the worst decisions by judges in a long long time. I was so disappointed.

 

Boxing has always been so corrupt. Judges got paid?

 

I know....just when I think I've seen the end of the corruption....$hit like that happens. I hate it....because Boxing was my 1st Love of sports.

 

It was something else in the 70s and 80's, especially the HWT division at first, and the divisions Hagler, Hearnes, and Leonard fought in. USA network and I believe ESPN had weekly fight nights, some of the regulars would be on every 6 weeks or so and it was really good sports entertainment. I have all respect for MMA, but boxing was special in the period.

 

Agreed. You know ESPN+ has it almost every week. I just wrote them a long statement (not that it will matter, or they will care), but I said I pay for 4 ESPN channels on my satellite, and they are showing cornhole , and X games, and old basketball games, but if want to watch some of the Boxing (like last night's) I also have to pay for ESPN +......it's ridiculous.....when is enough enough???

 

Corn hole? Whats next pickle ball? Thats going back to the beginning when they had junior BMX, lol. AND you are paying for it? wow, just wow.

 

Yeah boxing was also my favorite sport, I had around 50 amateur fights after I got out of HS but wasn't good enough to advance anywhere near Olympic caliber.

 

Exactly, but if You could have ....would not being able to have a chance at winning a gold medal have been awesome???

I think you are around my age group. It was Ali/Frasier fights that got me into it. I was almost out of it when Tyson came along but did follow him.

I was only 10 or 11 when they frist fought, but my brother had his transistor radio tuned and we listened to (what I believe) was a 50 word report after each round. Then later of course was played on Wide world of Sports. That fight and the heavyweight competition throughout the 70s' really was fun and exciting to watch.

 

I too listened to it like you did. Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Norton, Duran, etc. 70's was maybe the height of Boxing for general public.

Worst decision I have ever seen was Bradley vs Pacquiao. Bradley was shocked as anyone when they announced the decision. Pacman won every rd.

 

Yes....I've seen many, but not as bad as Foster, and Conceicao....at least not that I can think of.
