So, nothing against Journey, I was just never a big fan for some reason. I recognize they have some great songs, I just never got into them. But I recently became aware that they re-recorded a bunch of their classic songs with their new singer. If someone hadn't told me that, I would have never realized that this wasn't Steve Perry singing. He sounds exactly like him.

I'm a big Journey fan. I didn't know they had re recorded their songs. This guy sounds very similar to Steve Perry. I'll have to find "Lights" and hear if the new guy sings, "when the lights go down in the sitay"!

They’re like boston(or any other city/state band) to me. I can’t stand them. Like fingernails on a chalkboard

Yeah, Boston is another band, like Journey, that I never listened to. I can acknowledge that they have some good songs, but I never got into them at all.

Both bands are victims of over exposure. there was a time when you couldn't go more than 30 minutes without hearing "More than a feeling" or "Any way you want it"

Thankfully you didn't put "Don't Stop Believin". Damn song always makes me want to watch any episode of The Sopranos.

I used to listen to these guys quite a bit in the late 80s. Rex Carroll is an excellent guitar player, and Scott Wenzel sounds a lot like Stephen Pearcy. In fact, I read one time that somebody set up a concert with both Whitecross and Stephen Pearcy (post Ratt) because of how similar they sound, so apparently they've played together.

And one of Rex's solo pieces from the same album. Clearly influenced by EVH, it's very similar to Spanish Fly.

I also just discovered that Whitecross just released a new album last month, but with a new singer.

Another Rex Carroll solo piece from the new album:

I like the newer stuff better than the old stuff. I’m not a fan of the 80’s hair rock vocal style. The new singer has a little bit of Dio style in his voice IMO. I also like the newer solo guitar piece better.

I got into "Glam Rock" in the 80's. I thought I was only one who dug Kix.
