The Pirates wasted a good pitching performance from Falter. Ledolo is tough though. I can’t Falt them too much on this one, no one has been getting to Ledolo.
I do hope that today’s game has been moved to the evening. Too hot for human life.

 

We've been frustrated as Pirates fans for most of the past 30-some years, but this year seems worse. Watching the fantastic starting pitching this season being hamstrung by an anemic offense, poor coaching, and an insufferable management, is really sad.

I keep wondering why we haven't traded away this amazing pitching talent we've stockpiled in the minor leagues for a couple of legit bats. It's finally dawned on me: there is no amazing pitching talent in the minor leagues. Just like they've done to us so often in the past, they're lying about the abilities of those players. How often have we been told about the help that's coming only to be disappointed time and again. Since 1993, how many guys have come through our system who've been good, reliable day-to-day major leaguers over a five to eight year stretch?

 

Pirates win 1-0! Bullpen functioned as it should. Back to two under .500. I bet there were more heat strokes than base runners today.

 

As predicted in an earlier post I said we'd do 2 of 3 from Reds, THANK YOU PITCHING STAFF!!! Could have swept if we could hit the ball.

OK next up Tampa Bay. Two out of three will get us to 1 under .500.

Please don't tear us apart Bobby. Just this once add something then you can do your annual salary dump at seasons end.

 

News Flash....... AAA 1st B Jake Lamb has decided to quit Indy and declare Free Agency since Rowdy has hit a mild hot streak and is now an unlikely call up. Now the funny part. "For those veteran Pirates observers wondering, Lamb is no relation to former Pirates pitcher John Lamb, who appeared in 47 games over 1970-71 and 1973. John Lamb was part of the Pirates’ “meat” pitching trio that included Bob Veale and Bob Moose."

 

Just try and win as many series as we can! Be over 500 in no time.

I think it's Jones tomorrow night?? Tampa Bay's 3 starters against us are nothing special. Then again they will be going against Pirate bats so that will help them.

Sure do wish we could get some more good bats.

 

With more playoff spots, it may be that more teams see themselves in contention and see themselves as buyers and not sellers. If the Bucs find another stick or two, it may have to be guys stuck at another organization’s AAA level, like Jake Lamb was here. I bet you could find players who would hit better than Michael A. Taylor without looking hard.
The question I have is : how many catchers hitting below .200 can one team have?

 

Bullpen game tonight

 

I looked at the probable starting pitcher tonight and it said TBD. I guess it means Them Bullpen Dudes.

 

Was just listening to 93.7 the fan and thats what they said. As far as Skenes goes, possible Sunday start.

They were also talking about this on the fan this morning.

Missed it but it is logical. And does not cost a load. How much could several AAA guys with large platoon differentials cost?
