Caught a little of this game on my car radio. Had barely heard of Kyle Nicolas before, and they announced that he hit 99 on the radar gun. I looked up his record, and he has never really been a dominant pitcher, even at Ball State. That heater will keep teams interested in you, even if you really are not overly successful.
Can you imagine what some of these hard throwing monsters would do with the old (pre 69 or whatever year it was) higher mound?

 

Fleming did good I see. Well PNC should have more then usual tomorrow night in the Burgh. And my dream of .500 still in the oven.

 

Pornstache Night in the Burgh!
I hope the pierogi race is not canceled because of the heat.
How long until they have an actual Pornstache Night, with free replica pornstaches for everyone attending to wear, and maybe a contest for the best actual Pornstache?

 

Oh joy, I met Anthony Solometo Grandfather today. Anthony is a 21 year old on the Altoona Curve, the Bucs double A team. Guy stands 6'5" and is a lefthander pitcher. Sure the hell hope he got a fastball. I think Bucs got him back in 2021. He was highly touted.
Anyhow, I see a Pirate hat at the store (rare in my parts) and went over to talk. He was not a Pirate fan but he told me whatever team his grandson is on will be his team. He seems confident that next year he will be in the big leagues. How nice would that be to add a 6'5" lefthander to our staff.

 

well I would hope they wouldn't do a pornstache promotion at a family event. Maybe something else.

 

Why is Grendal hitting fourth today? He is hitting like 180.

 

I'm worried Bobby boy will see this and decide it is another way to get fans to come to PNC.

 

OK, I'm not going to get nuts here but 2 out of 3 from Reds gets us to 2 under .500. We have Skenes tonight. Fingers crossed. Falter tomorrow who has given us some decent innings but he is up against Nick Lodolo who is a damn good pitcher. Only way we win game 2 of series is get a run and hope we can shut them out. Game 3 gonna be tough. Keller against Green. Both are almost the same this season. I'll be happy with 2 out of 3.

After this we will kick the Blue Jays ass in the Burgh. OK my new prediction in my quest to get back to .500.** We will be 1 game under .500 Sunday evening. Then we head off to Cincinnati.

BEAT EM BUCS!!!!

** This quest to get back to .500 also involves a money bet with family members. We bet the date the Bucs fall below .500 and stay there. 2 were out after 1st game I think I'm late July. Although if they want to stay over .500 the whole way I won't mind losing the money. Only one said we'd finish with 81+wins.

 

sometimes I think Falter is better than Jones But get us to 500 bucs- I'm tired of wearing the under 500 pirates cap which is gray.

 

4-1 going to the 5th…. Lets go Bucs! It is hotter in the burgh than it is in South Carolina today! I think we hit 94 with a heat index of 98

Skenes with the PO of Cruz at 1b… this turned out to be really big out, as Reds had runners on 1& 2 to end inning

 

I believe this will be the last inning for Skenes, hopefully he gets out of this inning
