"I have talked to my wife, and we know the reality, and we have had those talks, and she said it could be fun to play somewhere else," Heyward said, via The Athletic. "If that is what is needed to be done, then so be it."

Heyward even mentioned where he could be looking to move, saying the Browns are a possible landing spot, if he does end up leaving Steel City.

"I still have family in Cleveland ... my wife is from Cleveland. We will see. I am not trying to think about all that right now," Heyward said.

Oh no, whatever will the Steelers do without a 35+ year old, who had only 2 sacks last year and coming off an injury riddled season. And has troubles playing all downs. And due to pay him 16 million this year.

One thing to say, "if I'm not wanted, I'll continue to play for someone because I think I still have enough in the tank". But another thing to hint and name drop a division rival.

The Browns would be the one team dumb enough to pay a washed up Hayward the money he's asking for

So many of these guys have a difficult time recognizing when it is time to call it quits.

I hope Heyward finishes his career with the Steelers. But if Cam would rather pad his pocketbook for a year in Cleveland, then go for it. I would rather the Browns pay Cam to stand in sweats on the sideline next season than the Steelers.

Be careful what you wish for

The Steelers will have the best rushing attack in the NFL until they play the Browns with Cam on the roster.

Just like I have read that some experts say bigk will go for 450 yds 4 tds and 1 rushing against the Steelers this year.

Cam has had a great career, Pro Bowls, NFL Man of the Yr, a team leader and a solid citizen. But he’s lucky the Steelers aren’t asking him for a pay cut, let alone a new contract.
If the Steelers did the ruthless thing and cut him, he’d find out quickly that the market won’t pay him more than he’ll currently get from the Steelers.

Why say something like this publicly? Some of these rich overindulged football players have no common sense or self awareness.

I'm sure Cam would love to stay with the Steelers until he retires, but I can't say I blame him if he goes elsewhere if he can get one last big contract

I think this is a work on Cam’s part to get the Steelers to jump.

Cam doesn’t want to go anywhere, at his age, and the roots he put down in the city … no way.
