Hey Mojave, a friend of mine got a terrible case of Magnus in the Navy at Olongapo City. Penicillin took case of it, thankfully.
I bet a two seam fastball (which some now call a sinker) would work better in Denver. Would like to see Pornstache’s splinker or whatever it is called.

 

Speaking of knuckleballs, Bucs beat Atlanta in game 7 if Leyland put Wakefield in. He said he could go and ATL. could not hit him. I'll never forget that terrible night. Cried like a little girl, then after about an hour wife came out and said I best get to bed for work in the morning. Never went to bed and called in sick to work and they all knew why. Took me years to fully get over that. Always remember my brother-in-law calling me the next day and saying that was our last chance to see a WS.

 

Was a decision that had me befuddled for years… sorta like we passed on last play of AFC CHAMPIONSHIP game against Chargers instead of running.

 

No starting pitcher announced. 93.7 speculated that it will be another bullpen game. I hope we get the good bullpen and not the bad one. In Denver it could look like a football score. Not gonna listen.

Should not have put Bednar in with that lead. Shelton is a dumb bell.

Way back in early 80's the Orioles got rid of Earl Weaver and replaced him with Joe Altobelli. O's were stacked in 83 and won the WS (beat the Phillies, thank you very much) in spite of Joe. Knew a guy who went to an Orioles event with the members of the 83 team there. They were talking that Altobelli sucked but they won in spite of him. I think the Pirate players do not hold Shelton in high regard.

 

Should have just been Ortiz starting the game.

 

Jared Jones is the probable pitcher tonight. That probably means that Pornstache pitches Sunday afternoon.
I was pleasantly surprised with the pitching yesterday. Good game! Wonder if Ortiz should be starting if he can do what he did yesterday, in that thin air.

 

Jones today and Skenes tomorrow I believe. Jones owes us a good game. Needless to say I once again have high hopes to sweep Rockies and then go into Cincinnati and get to or over .500.

 

Hopefully Jared ends his skid today.

I find those a tad bit embarrassing but the kiddies love them.

 

Was told Skenes will be pitching Monday night at PNC. Bob wants mo money on a Monday. How cool if we can win next 2 and he pitches us to .500.

 

Most entertaining thing going on at PNC for many years, until lately. Now it is Jones and Pornstache.

 

Pornstache… he will forever be known to me as that. Awesome nickname

Pretty much. We win today I really wanted to see him pitch tomorrow. It is nice that the Pirate fans will get to see him Monday night and I'm sure Mr. Nutbag knows it will get a bigger crowd.

MLB has Dakota Hudson pitching for Rockies Sunday but for us they have TBD. They have that for Monday too. My sources on another message board don't know who is going today but say Skenes for sure Monday.
