    DO NOT LOOK AHEAD!

Ok looking ahead the Bucs could make a move this week. We got to go to STL. and Colorado. They are no better then us and we got the pitching.

First things first, let's sweep the Twins. I think Jared Jones is up today.

Wonder when the last time the Pirates played 2 series in a row while headed into the last game with the potential to bring out the brooms? Happened this week against Dodgers and now the Twins. Season started out great - 5 in a row, swept Marlins 4 games, beat Nats in first game of a 3 game series but lost the 2nd. No complaints taking 2 out of 3. After all, I've always been told that I'm tall, dark and....well 2 out of 3 ain't bad! :lolol:

Ruh-oh Shaggy, Jones is sucking again. I think he got bombed last start and first inning he just walked in a run.

I can't look. Shock me later with an 11-10 Buc win.

Davis hitting 150. Suwinski hitting 170. Real powerhouse lineup

I see the Bucs did battle back from the 3 runs we spotted them in the first. 4-4 at the moment.

We won series, todays win would be a bonus! Dont get me wrong, Id be happy winning every game. But if you can win the majority of series in the season, great chance you are making playoffs

How in the Hell is Heller in MLB?! This guy is beyond awful. I thought his era of 45.00 was bad a couple of nights ago… today he topped that at 49.50

How many players in the current Pirates roster don't belong in the major leagues?

    Too many....

This is true… this and they develop players for other teams! I wish MLB would get involved and stop the Pirates from continuing to keep doing this.
Please for the fans sakes, spend a lil money on some quality players.

If we could somehow combine the averages of Davis and Suwinski we would have something.

Those two hit right after each other. So there's almost no chance of getting anything at all out of them. It's just stupid. but on we go

At least Tellez has heated up. If Davis and Suwinski don’t heat up also, then they get the dreaded AAAA player designation….. good at the AAA level but can’t hit on the major league level. Particularly Davis.
BTW, the worst looking hitter I ever saw was not Tellez, Suwinski, or Davis. It was Manny Sanguillen in a slump. Latin ballplayers had the reputation of having, shall we say, a broad definition of the strike zone. When Sangy was hitting .300, swung at something a foot outside and hit it off the right field wall, it was great. When he was in a slump and missed by six inches and corkscrewed himself into the ground it was awful.
Latin ballplayers had a saying, “You can’t walk your way off an island”. And yes, I know Sangy is Panamanian and did not grow up on an island, but he was the least walking hitter you ever saw.

I remember Manny very well. There wasn't a pitch that he wouldn't swing at.

    Yep.
I may be unkind in saying Suwinski may be a AAAA player. He has shown that he can hit major league pitching in the past.

Today by chance I golfed with a Pirate season ticket holder. I'd call it a round of b!tching. He made a few points I agree with. He doesn't put it all on Nutbag. He puts 50% on how MLB is run. MLB almost invites teams to suck and still make money. The teams paying 250 million dollar salaries have to share the revenue with Nutbag.

I was raised on the Pirates. I get so PO'd I let it bother me. I get even more PO'd when I get excited and hopeful when deep down I know it's impossible.

I would go so far as to place 100% of the blame on the way MLB is set up financially, in that if it was more like the NFL, you wouldn’t have the concept of a big market or small market team, and thus you would not have owners like Nutting. No one ever refers to Green Bay or Pittsburgh as small markets when they talk about football. The NFL is set up to have a strong league, MLB is set up to have strong teams in the big markets.

Short answer, he ain’t, unless someone else picks him up. The Pirates DFAed him. And, in a very Piratey move, claimed some veteran infielder who was hitting .200 for Salt Lake City.
