I'm finding it ironic how we've turned the Pirates Thread into lamenting the state of the economy which is what we've all been saying about the Pirates ownership and how the fanbase is getting ripped off decade after decade as are so many of the small market teams. I think it's those damn Bit Coins that have cursed everything.

 

I worked a minimum wage job when I was in high school. For three years I worked for minimum wage. I knew it wasn't my career

Sometimes moves work and sometimes they don’t. These moves didn’t, nothing to be ashamed of, but you have to cut loose and move on at some point. Like soon.

Do love your names. Chapman, probably a HOFer. I'm always surprised when the great end their careers this way. Money trumps pride everytime.

Rowdy was playing first base and Daniel Vogelbach got a single. They were standing next to each other. I had the theory that Téllez was really Vogelbach with a fake beard, but I guess that idea is now shot to ****.

 

Tellez’s new nickname is now…….BLUTO.

 

If butt head would just spend a tad bit more $$$$ and get some hitters we'd hit .500. Bucs got pretty damn good starting pitching.

We seem stuck at 4 games under. I still have slim hope we could see .500 again.

 

Bluto got on base in all four plate appearances and drove in all four Pirate runs today! Will wonders never cease? I think it is because I gave him his new nickname! Unfortunately they lost anyway, but it’s a start.
Dude was several days away from being an Uber driver and still may be.

 

You're up Mr. Desert Rat It's all on you. Bucs playing them Dodgers in the Burgh. I'll expect a sweep just like you enjoyed in LA last season. (maybe 2 years ago?)

Hopefully the Brooklyn Bums are looking ahead to their upcoming weekend series against the Bronx Bombers and forget about this 3 game series? Not expecting it by any means but it's happened a few times in recent years.

 

Great News - Pirates steal the headlines - "Former Pirate Tucupita Marcano Banned for Life from MLB!" First player since Pete Rose to be banned for life. Allegedly he bet on Pirate games after being put on IR from an ACL tear and his season ended early. He was later released and picked up by Padres where he came from in exchange for Adam Frazier (another favorite of mine). I guess the only real question here is - did he bet for or against the Buccos?

 

Jared Jones strikes out Ohtani in 1st and gets him to hit into a double play in the 3rd! That deserves a Cy Young trophy right there. Way too many pitches though - 52 through 3 innings. Doesn't have his pinpoint control he had earlier in the season. And Freeman is still ripping the Pirates as always. Oh well 3 scoreless against Dodgers - I'll take it. Of course the Bucs are hitless against Glasnow. Whoops - Suwinski fresh up from Indy smacks a homer. 1-0 Bucs. Maybe it will rain hard after 4 1/2 innings.

 

Jones was fired up - throwing 3 pitches 101+ MPH in the first. Made it through 6 at 100 pitches and 6 Ks. Last pitch was 99 MPH -high heat.
