So we have money. And I'm shocked we haven't used it. Maybe they're keeping it there for a trade.

    But here's remaining free agents.

    QB ryan tannehill

RB I don't think we need with us having also patterson. But
    - Calvin cook

    WR
    - michael Thomas
    - hunter renfrow

    CB
    - Xavier Howard
    - adoore Jackson
    - Stephen Gilmore
    - Steven Nelson

I'm really surprised we didn't get one of those 4 CB's.

They have three veteran quarterbacks, so there is no reason to sign Tannehill.

I think you meant Dalvin Cook, but he would also make no sense for a team that already has three veteran running backs.

Injuries have ruined Thomas, but I'm not sure he realizes it. He will probably want more money than he is worth given the decline in his play and the injuries.

I wouldn't mind seeing them sign Renfrow, but as others pointed out, Smith doesn't use three receivers as much as many other modern offenses and I'm not sure if he is a good option anywhere but the slot.

Nelson didn't just burn his bridges with the Steelers. He pissed on the ashes.

Maybe they are concerned that an aging cornerback will turn out like Patrick Peterson all over again. That might make Jackson the best fit, but he can be very inconsistent.

    I still want Justin Simmons.

I think Steven Nelson burned every bridge in Pittsburgh when he left.

Right now I would take either one of these guys for $3 million with an up to clause to $5 million if things go right.
    WR
    - michael Thomas
    - hunter renfrow

Funny about Tannehill still being available, I wonder if he has decided to try to pull a Joe Flacco and wait until midway through the season to decide where he wants to go. If you don't need the money; Why jump in early, only to be buried on somebody's depth chart.

I think that is exactly what Tannehill is doing at this point, or at least it is what he should do.

Neither Thomas nor Renfrow is a great option. Thomas wasn't terrible when he played last season, but that was only 10 games. It wasn't just one injury. It was a series of them since 2020.

Renfrow is younger and healthier, but his production dropped through the floor since his 100-reception season in 2021. That year alone makes me think he would be worth signing as a compliment to Pickens, but maybe they want two guys who can attack defenses deep rather than one who does his best work underneath and on intermediate routes.

I keep forgetting we got allen.

I'm not a fan of Thomas. It's like you said, and I don't see him trying unless he got 10 million. Which will never happen. I think he'll look for a way out with a meh injury and take the money.

Renfrow I do like. But I agree Smith isn't big on WR. When he went to the falcons we saw their TE drop in numbers..... my only thing is I'm not sure about our #2 situation. And if Pickens can handle truly being #1.

But I still wish they would have got one of those 4 CB's.

Cory Trice said he has still not been cleared to play and is currently wearing a very large brace during the OTAs.

Not a Fan of bringing back Pat P for another go at CB.

I am still kicking myself for the Steelers not drafting TJ Tampa in the 4th.

Howard is still out there if you want the top Free Agent CB left along with Justin Simmons if you want to completely shake up the DB room.

Interesting that Adoree Jackson Who is probably the best under 30 CB still remaining may have some ties with Arthur Smith's time in Tennessee.

And then there is Cam Sutton circling the city with a hope of a comeback.

Don't forget about former Steeler Mike Hilton who may become a cap casualty in Cincinatti.

Yes, Stoic philosophy teaches that people should not waste time worrying about things they cannot control.

Felt the same way about Creed Humphrey not getting drafted by the Steelers.

I really thought people were saying trice was all good to go.

Goes that comes from articles being poorly written for click bait intentions only.

What are those player's expectations at this point? Can contribute on special teams? Are those players a good fit? How much money do those players want? Maybe those players are waiting for the best opportunity to come?

There are a number of reasons why teams didn't sign those players at this point.

Trice hasn't been cleared for contact, which is okay because contact isn't allowed in OTAs. He is cleared to physically participate.
According to him, he will be cleared for contact by the time the pre-season starts.

there is no reason to mention Tannehill. There is no place for him here, unless one of the other 2 gets injured.

Neither of those WR's fit what AS wants to to.

CB - still WIDE OPEN, including Sutton coming back (unless he signed this weekend and i missed it?

YES - Wizard of Khan is not done yet - you can be sure of that. Maybe STILL a big trade!

Nobody on that list is going to move the needle much. They will probably wait until camp cutdowns to see if someone falls in their lap like Haden in 2017.

Gilmore or Jackson could help. I don't think Renfrow is a great fit, but he might not be a terrible compliment to Pickens.

I agree Gilmore or Jackson would make the roster better but if they sign a CB I think it’ll be a slot. They are paying Donte Jackson $6m and I think he will start opposite Porter unless he doesn’t perform at camp.

WR is definitely a worry but I don’t see Renfrow as a great fit either, and definitely not Thomas who hasn’t been able to stay on the field.

I would be surprised if they don’t make at least one significant signing, you just never know who might become available later in the summer.

Top NFL Players who are skipping their teams OTA. (Funny of course Cam Heyward is #1 on their List :) )
    https://ftw.usatoday.com/lists/10-nfl-players-holdouts-otas-justin-jefferson-ceedee-lamb

    WR Justin Jefferson, Minnesota Vikings
    WR Tee Higgins, Cincinnati Bengals
    WR CeeDee Lamb, Dallas Cowboys
    WR Courtland Sutton, Denver Broncos
WR Darius Slayton, New York Giants
WR Brandon Aiyuk, San Francisco 49ers

I will blow a gasket if they trade Najee away for a WR. Khan created this hole at WR, I hope he doesn't create an even bigger hole by trading away RB1.

Yeah, is he any good? Noah really seemed to be pushing him to fill a need for the Steelers.
