Dwight "hands of Stone". yet he had a 14 year NFL career! Just read his wiki page and was quite astonished. I never realized he was with our team 8 or 9 years, not bad for an undrafted lad, even though he could not catch much, lol.

    Hell AB ran a 4.57 official 40.
Ok here it comes.....all the guys that say He ran a 4.47.....that was unofficial, and at a different place. Almost everyone runs a faster time at their own school......magically. LoL

Teams always wanted speed from their receivers. That lack of top-end speed dropped Rice to the middle of the first round.

didn't say they would. just showing the speed they have brought in.
not the point I was making. The prior post was listing the 40 times. All the players they brought here are fast.

Dwight with reported beep beep 4.2 speed and Ike 4.18

Former Steelers coach Chuck Noll said that Stone had “Beep Beep”speed and was"the fastest player I've ever coached over 40 years

Great. Maybe the Steelers should just recruit a few track guys who don't even play football.

these guys have done it in the league at one time or another. from what i'm seeing omar and weidl are not that out of touch with bringing players in here. i'm going to trust their judgement for now.

Wow! Thanks to everyone taking the time. I have some reading to do! This Steeler club never lets me down for good quality arguments.

Brown had amazing start stop ability. He was twitchy and I feel like he got faster after we drafted him. It would have been interesting to know what his 40 was a couple years into his prime.

From the wiki page it gave a good description of his post NFL years and that he won his final teams community involvement award. There used to be times when the steelers page gave updates on past players (perhaps they still do). I think it would be interesting and fun if they did it more often during the off season, family reunions, lol.

The Steelers have been in contact with free agent Michael Thomas. He's 31, and a former OPOY, and the record holder for receptions in a season.

He is also a shell of the player he was when he won that award in 2019. I don't mind if they sign him cheap, but let's not pretend he is still that player.

he worked with troubled youth as a deputy sheriff. we used to go to dinner with him after games. we went to his wedding and rubbed elbows with a bunch of steelers that night. that was fun. my dad for many years exchanged Christmas gifts with he and his wife for years even after he went to NY. i knew a few steelers well at that time. one from my home town. shawn vincent. i'm still friends with he and his wife. carnell lake we got to know back then too. tunch ilkin. barry foster. we used to meet up with those guys after games and shoot the bull. dwight took us in the locker room after one game. we had dwights mother and sister at my dad's for dinner and took them to a game to see him play. they were from alabama. the first time his mother saw him play. also good friends with lance mehl. he was the jets LB during the NY sack exchange days. tim spencer who was a RB for the chargers and still 4th all- time rushing at ohio state. i played HS football with him. he was a RB coach at ohio state, chicago bears and tampa bay bucs. he won a ring with them. then their is bobby lyons. he was a DB for the browns. dan morgan played TE for carolina.

I am very surprised by this longevity. Can't recall too much of his undistinguished career special teams must have saved him.

The Steelers already have a bunch of #3 and #4 receivers, no need to bring in another one.

I agree - he is WELL past his prime, and that was in Yrs. 2-4 when he was HERE.

no need to even read the article. there is nothing left in his tank to make an impact here.
