You insisted that I had "grabbed on" to the idea that the Steelers didn't sign Boyd because of the things he said about them two years ago. That was a lie. You just kept on repeating it. Own what you did and perhaps I'll discover a shred of respect for you.

I would be happy with 5-7 million for Simmons. Not sure what Khans plans are to do with the $18 million right now. I know if Khan completely screws up and signs nobody, they can roll it over for next year. And, I am still scratching my head as to why we haven't heard anything about Larry or Cam's Cap cost coming down.

Sound like Khan missed out on Bud Dupree again this year, maybe he can get Golden to comeback and be the 4th OLB.

Cam Heyward wants to play three more years, and is in extension talks with the team, if they give him a three year extension I hope it's a team friendly deal.

 

Simmons isn't the player he used to be and I'm not even sure he fits a need. They would be much better off spending money on a cornerback.

Hopefully they don't waste their time re-signing Peterson.

 

They better be careful here. Colbert extended aging vets past their time all the time. I love Cam but from the Steelers side it is risky to extend him anything beyond a year and with that the money and guarantees have to make sense for the team.

 

Averett has decent coverage skills.

 

Which is why he spent the entire 2023 season off of every NFL team's 53-man rosters. 32 teams said "NO" to Averett for being an active member of their roster last year. Average or Decent cover skills do not make an NFL Cornerback.

In other words, Great, Khan has signed another practice squad player that will never seen an NFL regular season game again. HELLO, We still need a starting WR and a starting CB.

FYI, I think these last 2 signings completes their 90 man roster for this offseason.

 

You really have a case of the "The Steelers, who spent thousands of man hours rating college players before the draft, didn't draft the guy I wanted who I read about online". Give it up. We didn't pick TJ Tampa. 129 other chances to pick him weren't used. There's a reason for that.

i like the averett move. beenie bishop as well. young but talented group we have in here. trice, rush, bishop, averett, jackson, jpj, minkah, kazee, elliott, killebrew, thompson, watts and a few others. let them sort it out on the field.

 

He was decent three years ago, but didn't even make it onto the field in 2023.
