If Jones takes over at LT and Fautanu starts at RT, we have been told Moore can't play RT. I don't see Moore wanting to accept a backup role as he enters his contract year, I wouldn't be surprised if he asks for a trade.

Being the swing tackle does not resonate with Moore. He has started at Left Tackle for 3 years for better or worse and is on the record of not liking the right tackle position.

Hopefully Khan can get a 3rd if they decide to trade him or at least a 4th to get back the pick.

It's good to have a backup. He's pretty cheap so just keep him as a backup in case the starting OT goes down.

It will be a 6th round pick or a pick swap like the Dotson trade at best

Would be shocked if we started two rookies in September. 3/5 of our line either rookie or first full year as a starter?

Moore was one of the worst LT in the NFL last year....Problem for Dotson with us,it was he did not play at his natural position

5.5 sacks he gave up. considering the kid went against some of the best pass rushers in the league, there is a fine line between ranking of these guys. if it's only a 6th rounder i would keep him.

may not look as bad with a better qb too. he could run block which should be the focal point of this offense. starting LT don't grow on trees. guards are more plentiful. you don't see a bunch of 1st round picks of guards. the position alone garners higher return in a trade.

The QB play was awful for most of the year last season but one thing that was fine was they didn't hold the ball too long....Fields and Wilson held the ball way longer, which can be a good thing , since they both let the play to develop instead of being quick on the checkdown like crazy but that can lead to more sacks, since they both hold the ball longer, so the o-line will be important...

I think that is the price in-season, closer to the trade deadline if he is still on the bench. Earlier in training camp and the season he has more value as injury insurance and making sure the young guys are ready to do the job.

i have also seen articles saying 3 of those sacks were not the fault of moore and truely only had 5.5. i don't feel like going and digging it up. so whatever. PFF i take with a grain of salt and if the offense is turning toward the run as the strength he will have more worth.

one injury and it could be very valuable to us as opposed to a draft pick next year.

Dan Moore is not going anywhere this season. .. we need a contingency plan in case of injury and Moore is the only viable option... he will walk after the season, but for now, he will occupy a spot on the bench

Funny how with some of You PFF is awesome, and exactly correct when You want it to be. PFF = Pretty F**king Fake. This is the same place that said T. Edmunds was better than M. Fitzpatrick, and that Garrett was better than Watt.

I think three things have to happen. 1. Fautanu needs to show enough they are comfortable starting him over Moore. Number two They need to be comfortable with Cook or whoever the swing tackle will be in the depth spot. Third what kind of value can they get trading him. Maybe a trade of Moore for Slayton of the Giants?

I never said that PFF is awesome....I don't trust their grade but I don't think they are that wrong about the stats like pressure and sacks

I don’t see why you would trade him unless you get an excellent offer, unlikely given he is a free agent after 2024

It depends on how they feel about what is behind him in terms of depth as well. Injuries happen and you need viable backups. Say what you want about Moore but he has a lot of experience and you can put him in for a few games and know that he won’t kill you. That is worth holding on to.

We really do not know much about Cook or Anderson except non-descript reports from some source that they like them. At least get into camp and see how things play out. Injuries happen everywhere, the cost to keep him is relatively cheap, the trade value may increase if you feel confident in what you have..and another team has immediate needs. I do not see the need for a rush move, another scenario is how many OL do they keep? If the other guys show enough then again you might get something instead of cutting outright. I don't think the value would be that much, but at that point you build capitol for opportunities next year.

But after being a starter for three years and going into his contract year, will he accept a backup role?

That is why they shouldn't trade him. They get more value from keeping him, even as a backup.
