Just read it on sulia. I actuallythink this could work out very well. McClendon would own most ot in the league. I believe hood would have to add at least 15 pounds to get to 315.

If you're talking about the post by Jerry Dulac, he was saying "maybe the Steelers should try this".

I thought the annual 'move Hood to NT' offseason talk was over. Personally, I don't see them switching. During his exit interview, a reporter asked McLendon about possibly moving out to DE and he said he could, but I think they'll keep him in at NT.

Yeah the Steelers aren't talking about sh*t at this point. Any talk of them switching spots its purely speculation at this point.

They know he's average, but according to Chris Hoke he would be even worse at NT. During an interview in TC last year a reporter asked Hoke about moving Hood to NT and he basically said Hood isn't a good fit there, he's a better 3-4 DE.

I think Ta'amu will eventually be serving some time in jail. Idk if you can try to run over a cop and not serve some time.

Anything to get McClendon on the field!!! All he did in the limited playing time he got this year was to make plays every time he was in the game. I think this is a situation where the head coach goes to the DC and says I want you to find more playing time for McClendon, end of discussion. His lack of playing time this year is perplexing and don't give me that crap about how LeBeau's defense is so complex that McClendon was just not picking it up. That's bullcrap right there my friend. The guy's a stud and knows how to make plays so he needs to be in the game! Ths was one of Tomlin's many failures this year, not getting McClendon more involved!!!

Personally, I have promoted a group of 6 dlineman next year which look like this: Keisel, Heyward, Hood, McLendon, Ta'amu, and Fangupo.

You could then bring back Hampton on a vet exemption or keep Woods another year. Between the last 3 on this list though, I think you could get 30-35 snaps a game at the NT position which about all they will get.

I have hope for fangupo or taamu, but honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if they drafted a guy early, there are a few good NT's in this draft it seems....

You need your NT to be special, not average.

Yeah I remember a lot of people here had him already tried and sentenced. I still don't understand the mob mentality. Let the guy have his day in court.

Yeah I hope he stays put. When he filled in for Casey this year he did good. I really can't wait to see him get more playing time.

Good to see some more McClendon fans here. I always got this fuzzy feeling every time he got on the field this year because he just looks like a guy that seems really hungry to me. He seemed really excited and fiery and that's not something we saw from a lot of guys this year sadly.

I really don't get all the over hyping of McClendon, I mean I like the guy and hope for the Steelers sake he turns into a force, but what has he really done to prove that he can be a starter?

Make plays nearly every time he's called upon.

I think if hood added some weight he could be a pretty good nt. He needs to use his strength though as the article said he's the strongest guy on the team but rarely uses a bull rush. I think he did start towards the end of the year and started getting sacks. Did he finish with sacks in three or four straight. I never judge a player until their third year and imo this was hood's best year so far. Also he has yet to miss a game due to injury which on this team is huge. Too many people are to quick to call a guy a bust. Diesel and smith really didn't tale off until there third year.

Yes he makes plays at times, but how is it he can't beat out Big Snack when most here think Snack is all but washed up? Are we to believe that DL just keeps McClendon on the bench out of loyalty to Snack? If this is true of DL then I can't see how you could allow him to keep his job.

Could it be that Hood is doing a great job at what the defense is asking of him and the fans just scream bust because he's not leading the league in sacks?
