    What he said.

While we're here.. just before the draft I believe you predicted one of Barton/JPJ/Fraizer would be there at 51. I disagreed.

Maybe if he signs for the minimum, but he's going to have to be the fourth outside linebacker this year. Herbig should get more playing time.

I got nervous when the Raiders picked JPJ at 41. I was honestly shocked that we didn't take Barton with #21. I was texting my son, and when our turn came up I told him it was between Barton and Mitchell. Glad I was wrong there.

If he wants to run his mouth about another team in the division, then don't come looking for a big pay day from them, he's mid anyway.

So you want the team to put ego ahead of success. Got it.

No, I didn't want them to pay Boyd 4.5 million as #3 WR .

So, when the Steelers beat the Bengals twice last year did they quit too?

He would be our 2nd WR and 4.5 millions is cheap in the current market especially on a 1 year contract

I mean, if we look at 2021, the Steelers had lost 24-10 in the first game against the Bengals and that's when Boyd said that the Steelers had given up and after in the next game against them, the Steelers proved Boyd right by losing 41-10 and it was 31-3 at halftime and they couldn't stop the run in this game...I don't know where Boyd was wrong in that:shrug:

I love Khan but he is not perfect...He choose a washed Peterson at 7 millions over Sutton a 11 millions per year last year

Sutton seriously wasn’t worth the extra $4 million last year. If he was, Detroit wouldn’t have cut bait on him as fast as they did. Hell, that receiver for the Chiefs is facing like 9 felonies and he still has a job.

Sutton was in a complete different role in Detroit last season....I mean,so often he was on island against the top WR of the other team.....

Or they thought they could get even more of a bargain by lowballing him and ended up with nothing.

Doesn't matter. In the real world, if you openly talk $h!t about how a particular corporation does business or the people that work for them, don't be surprised when that corporation doesn't want to hire you when you're job searching.

I doubt it. Maybe in Colbert's tenure, but not Khan/Weidl... They have given us 0 reason to believe that this is how they operate.

There were rumors even when Boyd was being brought in that "people within the organization were split on whether or not they should sign Boyd". It was 100% about is negative comments and unsolicited shots toward the team's culture and camaraderie. There is a good shot that we haven't been interested in Boyd since he left our building without a contract over a month ago.

Personally, I think they have eyes for someone bigger than Boyd. Khan didn't restructure Highsmith's contract right before the draft for nothing. Let's just be patient and trust that we have a plan. There is no reason to complain about the roster until we get to OTA's and still have major holes for no reason.

This is true. The rep group I manage that is out of Detroit houses some huge Lions fans. They all said that Sutton was just ok and not the biggest loss, but that they made him the #1 and realize that he was probably better as a #2 or a slot CB. The kicker was that they had Brian Brach playing the slot, so they were pretty much forced to keep him outside at all times.

Sutton would be awesome to come back as a #2 opposite Peezy Jr. and slide into the slot in sub packages. This was always his best role, and something I believe he would still be good at for a few more years. If the legal stuff clears, why not bring him back?

Read somewhere that he’s better as a slot CB, a role he played for us. If that’s the case, his salary range is about $7m. Detroit paid a premium for him to slide outside and he wasn’t good in that role

Kickers/punters are tough to assess. Younghoe Koo lasted 3 weeks with the Chargers and was out of the NFL for two years. Now he’s a Pro Bowl kicker. Sometimes a change of scenery is all they need

Rumors and 100 percent speculation. That's what you just offered.

There is reason to believe Khan is heavily focused on making every move a great value, and sometimes, that might be to the detriment to the team.

I don't doubt that he has his focus on getting somebody better, but this is what I meant by pursuit of perfection being the enemy of pursuit of the good.

I thought his legal issues had been settled. There may be pending league action, though that probably depends if this was really a first offense or not.

Every team gets their ass kicked, it doesn't mean they quit , and what did that big mouth Boyd do against the Steelers last year maybe he quit .
