After watching Patterson play for the Vols this past season, I wouldn't be happy with him as a 1st round pick.

your kidding right? you watched him and still want him. did you see him quit on routes? did you see him drop balls? did you see him argue with his coaches? i guess you saw his highlight reel. he has speed and he has the ability to make you miss. he is a glorified return man and if that is worth a first round pick i guess its ok. his teammates didnt like his attitude and the arguing with coaches alone turned me against him

I'm with steel1031 on the Vols players. Here in Knoxville this school has had some crappy coaching for the past few years. I really don't know if I'd be comfortable with ANY of them. There was another kid that played WR here named Rodgers that got kicked plum out of town and today my dad was telling me that we better stay away from him. MAYBE some of the o line guys might be pretty good because people seem to be pretty up on them around here but the skill guys are definitely kinda sketchy for me based on the atmosphere here in Knoxville.

i didnt watch senior bowl so i dont know how dallas thomas who is a good tackle who can play guard done. rivera the tight end is a good reciever with some speed but dont now about blocking. he wasnt ask to do that much. those are the only two i would consider. really those are the only two with no baggage.

We're focusing on the first round pick, but what about the TE from Stanford in the 2nd. I still think we need to grab a backup QB to possibly groom into a starter in rounds 3-6.

Well, like everyone else here I do not like the Patterson pick in R1. I hate taking guys with high talent but questionable motivation that high. However, with respect to the Ertz pick in R2 - if he's available there, and depending on who else is available there - he could be a steal in the mid 2nd. He is a 1st round caliber TE all the way, and can be a day 1 impact player. If Lattimore can get healthy and stay healthy, he is also a steal in R3. Imagine a RB with the heart and work ethic to match his natural talent.... would be nice. I do not have enough familiarity with the other guys to have a feel for whether I like the picks or not, but I do find the Webb kid intriguing as a pure slot corner. He looks like he has the short area change of direction quickness that you need to cover small, quick slot receivers like Welker.

i'd shy away from rodgers too. they talked about him during the vandy bowl game. he didn't listen to his coaches, coaching and would call his brother for coaching instead. he thought he knew more then his coach all the time. not what we need around here.
