What is the reality of Cam Sutton coming back, when and how long would he be suspended?

Your post actually posted as I was finishing typing mine. Athletic skills through the roof. I have read here and there that maybe he'll be used as a box safety. Maybe as a backup outside CB. I think if he makes the 53 he's going to start out as ST. I also believe he's going to be pretty good at that.

My guess he would be suspended 2-3 games, I heard he has to go through some mental diversion program IIRC.

On the field I agree 100%. I’m nervous about the off the field issue.

If it is only 3 I think I would take that... Having him back would solve a lot of issues.

Passing on TJ Tampa is going to bite us in the ass for the next 10 years as he will be Baltimore's starting CB. TJ Tampa was there for us in the 4th round, it should have been a no brainer for the Steelers to pull the trigger on this kid.

WTF. We take a backup offensive guard, rather than a starting CB???

McCormick is a pick for the future, Khan said they took him because Daniel and Herbig are in the last year of their contract.

That is not guaranteed given how the charges were reduced and that he doesn't have a previous offense.

That statement by Khan is intriguing on two fronts.

For one, the team may be willing to move on from Daniels in 2025 anyhow given the fact that the team still could trade for a WR then have to pick up Najee's fifth year option. There is also the possibility of Justin Fields getting an extension; likely a very low one but one nevertheless.

In regards to Nate Herbig, the team could likely be banking on Spencer Anderson to make the jump from year one to year two. He was rock solid in the Preseason and made the final 53. If anything, getting rid of Nate Herbig isn't going to cause much of a dent in the Salary Cap though doing so means that Anderson met expectations while McCormick exceeded expectations.

Steelers fans- Pittsburgh never plans for the future.
Also Steelers fans- Why the hell are we planning for the future?

On another note, TJ Tampa was passed over 129 times. That means 32 NFL management staffs felt there were better players to take than him. Maybe they know something we don't know from, I don't know, meeting with him, studying his film, meeting with his teammates and coaches, doing background checks, rather than reading write-ups on the internet.

bishop may help the slot for us. we still may make a move for a free agent as well at corner. rush, trice, barcoo, barnes, graham jr., jackson, jpj, scott,
watts, bishop, thats what we have at corner right now. they have to add to that.

Have you ever stopped to think that Omar Khan and Andy Weidl might just be smarter than you and they have a plan?

TJ Tampa is a good football player but his 40 time in the 4.65 range knocked him down in the draft. That is very slow for a CB who has to cover WR's in the NFL.

We had a Cb last year that ran in 4.6’s. It was maddening seeing him a step behind an open receiver consistently. I don’t think Tampa was ever a consideration for us.

I didnt realize the Kahn and MT met with him recently. Seems like it may be a non issue as far as availability.

Or TJ Tampa will be out of the league, or on his 3rd team, when McCormick is signing his second contract with us.

You can't freak over what you think is one missed draft pick. The other thing is that you have no idea what the team will do from now until the first game or who they currently have on the roster to address the situation. There are young corners developing, they signed a CB in free agency, and there are moves that can be made before the season starts and camp cuts.

I think we need to see what they put on the field before we judge anything at this point.

tampa ran 4.59 and as low as 4.54. bishop who we took as an UDFA ran a 4.52. not a big difference. not that this matters until pickens runs past him. :smiley1::cool:

I read that Bishop ran a 4.39. Regardless he was a UDFA.

Team still needs a WR from my perspective. Roman Wilson and George Pickens aren't enough while relying on the likes of Quez Watkins or even CA III is a massive leap of faith. I still believe a trade is coming though for trading for Sutton Post June 1st can save the Broncos $13,570,588 while incurring a $3,825,000 Dead Money Charge per OverTheCap.

What would the trade look like?! A pick for player; likely a fourth rounder in 2025 in exchange for Sutton. As far as players?! None that I can think of.

Yeah I’m sure they’ll either make a trade or sign a released player before training camp.

    Agreed.

No need to rush things from either the Steelers or Broncos perspective. Just have to give it some time. In the meantime, figuring out if the Steelers do extend Fields now or before the season at a very team friendly rate comes first. I seriously doubt they are going to decline Najee's Fifth Year Option.
