Suffice to say Khan and Co. are making the Dean's list so far... now we just hope these grades hold up three years from now ;)

Sharp Football Analysis: #4 Most Valuable Draft Class (Using a different approach, they formulate a Draft Capital Over Expectation rating. Put simply, the lower the teams DCOE, the better, indicating more steals than reaches. I recommend checking out the site for an explanation of their process if you into a different look at things.)

Whoever is making decisions down there is not too competent.

I used to work there as their photographer. Their owner does a lot of big moves.
    - Sam baker was his good friend son, so he wanted him drafted, start and then given the biggest contract.
    - he kept vick on the pay roll because he thought Vick would come back.

He gets to involved, while not knowing much about football.

It's why you don't see top coaches going there. Several coaches have come out saying the reason they didn't sign is because of how they don't have as much control over the team.

I gave the Steelers the same grade as last season; A+. The Khan Master does it again as far as I am concerned. Now, just a matter of putting everything together and seeing how well the Roster works.

I’m not a big grade the draft guy. Best I can say is they are all worthy gambles with a good shot of paying off when they meet the green.

If forced to I’d say Khan gets my top grade.

You talk to almost any team they all say they won the draft.

Truth is you find out in 4 years if a team actually won the draft.

One guy can have all the talent, but if he can't stay healthy then he can't produce.

    :hmm:

... and people on this board thought I was too optimistic for giving the Steelers back to back A+ drafts. At least in my reviews I highlighted how both Logan Lee and Ryan Watts both have a path to become contributions to the team.

Well, if the general consensus of National Media has sung the Steelers praises, then there is a theme that is to be followed.

It still comes down to the QB play. If a team has 10 all-pros and a below average QB, they may make the playoffs, but they won't win in the playoffs. Can Wilson or Fields be as good or better than Tannehill was with the Titans when he had the 33 TDs and 7 Ints? We may have Derrick Henry in the aggregate, and a better overall supporting cast, but QB is still a ?, but better than the previous ?

That's pretty much part and parcel with any review/grade immediately following the draft. They're just a review of how teams allocated their resources and balanced talent and need on paper.; the next three or so years will be seeing how it turns out on the field.

I'd rather be debating the finer points of whether Fautanu was actually the BPA for the team at 20 over Mitchell or Arnold, or whether Payton Wilson was the better choice over TJ Tampa at 98, rather than trying to come to terms with the idea of how using the #8 overall pick was best used on a backup QB option just in case the 36 year-old guy the team just signed for $180M is a complete disaster.
