About the Daniels to Center talk, which we've heard before... If they move Daniels to Center now, after watching Green and Cole suck something awful for three years, and after completely screwing up by not putting Kevin Dotson at RG because Daniels was there... I mean, WTF, fellas?

In this [hypothetical] case, is Herbig the RG? We can't have Rookie-Rookie on the Right side and we know Moore won't play over there. I wanted to move Moore to LG last season, after Jones was drafted, but they signed Seumalo for LG. After tonight, there are some really good players on the OL but I haven't the foggiest how they intend to assemble them. I'd like to see something like: Jones-Moore-Daniels-Seumalo-Fautanu

No doubt he’s a great athlete and he would be a great value for a team looking for a mobile guard. On this Steelers team I don’t think he has a position.

Maybe he can hang in there at RT and we get an actual center later in the draft? Maybe they intend to try him at center? Maybe he starts at RG and Daniels moves to center? Lots of maybes.

I just wanted to shore up at least one spot with a day-one starter tonight. Mitchell would have done that and Barton would have too. I don’t think this kid does.

One thing for sure the talking heads/ pundits ranked the DBs higher than the NFL teams did..

    Agreed.

I sure as hell didn't think Cooper DeJean would be available in Round 2. Doubt he is going to last very long as a whole.

I kinda agree, he is a great talent, but tackle is sort of a luxury since we have Moore.

The way it played out, we could have gotten a top cb in the draft, which would have filled a big hole on the team…if you don’t wanna to go the center route.

… Unless Daniels can move to Center? I would love to know if they ever asked him if he was willing to move there.

Those are not reasons to draft a guy at 20 in the first round.

49ers take WR Ricky Pearsall in the 1st round, does that mean WR trade talk is back on the front burner?

I thought someone posted here that Fautanu has 2 snaps at RT and 0 snaps at center. You have Dan Moore who admits he sucks as at RT, like wiping his ass with the wrong hand, and another guy that has a grand total of 2 college snaps at RT.

Why RT: Fautanu or Moore. Why not let Moore and Fautanu battle it out on the left side where both are at their best for 2024. Broderick had some high praise for Dan Moore's mentoring of him last year at LT.

I was not a fan of Fautanu, because with his athletic ability I see him more of a LT. Reminds me a lot of Chuks who I always thought would have made a better LT.

It’s part of the reason you do or did you like Devin Bush’s attitude?

Tomlin said they see Fatanu as a tackle FWIW.

Maybe teams don't see DeJean as a CB.

Moore is not going to RT. They tried it and he's said he can't get it.

Everybody knew JPJ draft stock was dropping, he wasn't going in the first round.

This is the first time in Steelers history they drafted OL in the first round in back to back years.

Well, I said all three (Barton/JPJ/Frasier) would be gone by 51, so I ain't wrong yet. ;)

Part of the fun of the draft is how unpredictable it can be once the clock starts for real (Atlanta Falcons, anyone?). Certainly didn't expect to see six QBs snapped up in the first 12 picks, but the way things are falling bode well for me being wrong. And I'd be just fine with that.

Same here. Saw a little of him early on, but with all the talk of him moving to guard he wasn't a guy I kept a heavy eye on. I knew he was a freakish athlete and tenacious at the point of attack, and the stuff I've watched of him since he was announced has me feeling better about the pick.

On paper he's still short for your standard NFL tackle, but he's got 34.5" arms along with power and agility. He and Jones should be among the most athletic tackle tandems in the league.

Me think that there’s going to be some disappointments in the next couple years. Bo Nix, JJ McCarthy and Michael Penix? Some major reaches there

That might help him though against some of the quicker edge guys. He's got longer arms than guys taller than him at Tackle.

Yes, Tomlin just said tackle, not RT. Let Broderick Jones spend another year at RT, while Dan Moore and Fatanu compete at LT.

Dan Moore still LT1 on the big board. :)

I see him as a playmaker at CB,slot, safety. Minka is breaking down. How many games did he miss last year?

I'm still trying to figure out Atlanta's thinking. They have one QB they just inked to a 4-year deal worth $180M ($100M guaranteed), and another they just selected 8th overall who will be a 24 year-old rookie.

At this point they may be disappointed to not be disappointed in a couple of years. o_O
