Fields option not to be picked up by the Steelers

My dad is 90 and has golfed his age every year since he was 70. Yeah, the Senior tees are a little ahead of the women's tees, and he's stopped playing hilly courses, but he still manages to get out 1-2 times a week when the weather is good.
Note- when he was 75, he hit three holes-in-one on three different holes in one month (actually, 29 days). From the regular tees, on a regulation, par 71 golf course.

 

Fields will end up with a nice backup contract.... like Batch and Leftwich got when they were here.

 

I don't dislike golfers or the game. It's just never appealed to me. The closest I've ever gotten was, when we were kids, we'd fish the water traps on one of the local courses fro sun up until they kicked us off the course! Lots of bass and bluegill!

we will find out......and we might find out by about mid-season.

if Russell sucks, Fields takes the field. IF he performs, he'll get a nice contract.

If the O line is upgraded in the draft.... Wilson won't get hurt and will start the entire season and hopefully post season.

 

Senior tees are behind the woman's tees but due to the "woke" world courses where I live are now using the words, forward tees and back tees. Awesome about your Father!!!!! Just last week I got 2 hole in ones the same day. Little Par 3 course I play a lot. Your Father obviously has athletic bones in his body. I can't play the big courses anymore. Well, I can but a huge waste of money. Hell, best I ever shot on a Par 71, 6200 yard course was an 83 and I never got close again. Oldest guy I golf with is 84 and you can see that he was the bomb in his prime. He played to a 7 handicap in his youth and it shows.

Simple for me to shoot my age at the Par 3 since Par is 54

Do we think Fields is going to sign for less money?? I have not followed him to closely so I'm not sure about his willingness to take a paycut

As to golf. I've golphed 5 times. In no instance did my golf ball get more than 4 feet in the air

 

it's a miserable game that is more addicting than crack - STAY AWAY if you can!

 

I agree with not picking up Fields 5th year option. I do look for a contract extension to keep him on the roster for 2025. It would make absolutely no sense to trade for him and have nothing to show for it next year.

 

Same as checkers, and video games.....doesn't make it a sport. JMO
