There is evidence it changed the course of the river at several intervals. Large swathes of land became riverbed as well as the opposite. Many oxbow lakes are attributed to that quake.

TBH I thought that was big cause the girl my wife knows was a mile from the epicenter and she and neighbors saw ground move. Then I get to my golf course and discovered a 4.5 ain't sh!t. They tell me it's the norm in SF. I guess they get accustom to it but I'd freak out every time.

I know people who live in this neighborhood. A lot of the nations crops com from here. As opposed to Owens lake on the other side of the Sierra which was drained to feed expansion in the L.A. basin. See "Chinatown"

That had to be the strangest event in most of those people's entire life. Go to bed in farmland surrounded by crops, wake up with lake front property.

Other life on other worlds??? Believe it?

The universe is what we can see with today's technology. I'm sure space goes on a lot further then we can see. There could be so many different elements we have zero idea about. For UFO's or whatever they call them now to have made it here they would have to be far more advanced then us plus they could come from a place with different elements then us that makes getting here easier. As for me I believe there is tons of other life forms out there that we will never know about and they will never know of us.

I've always found it interesting most humans don't believe people who have seen UFO's but will believe deeply in a person they never saw and have to take the word of people who lived 2000 years ago. As a friend said to me, one gives hope of eternal life while the other would just be amazing.

Our life form is so particular and unique, I doubt seriously it would occur just like this elsewhere since all the proper conditions had to magically line up over eons for us to happen. There may be other unique life forms out there (non-carbon?) but not very likely like ours. And for what it's worth, the Big Bang Theory is a religion and belief system of its own that requires perhaps a bigger "leap of faith" than any other beliefs. The JWST is demonstrating that so many strongly held astro-physic beliefs are false or wildly inaccurate. I just say, let everything reveal itself over time, as we've always done and will continue to and embrace newfound knowledge.

I have always held the belief that this world has ....as in using a phrase that is used in ponds....turned over many times. The flood which has been recorded by every people...of every belief....all across the world. Was just the last time. I believe that we were technically advanced many times....just not under the same line that we are now, but remember advancements is in the eyes of the people. So we could have advanced in many different ways.
