You know, I don't know that I can agree. I was at just about every practice.
I know I mentioned several times that "Mason must have slapped someone's mother" the way they were treating him.

The first preseason game - The Steelers got 32 points.
Mitch only attempted 7 passes, he wasn't bad.
Mason played the bulk of the first half, wasn't bad at all. (At this point I could see a good reason for Mitch and Mason to switch reps for the first team for the next game.)
Kenny Played the 2nd half and did pretty well. (He's still a rookie and was playing against some backups)

The 2nd game was a little tighter... they only scored 16
Mitch started off again and they treated him like a seasoned starter, he only threw 8 passes before calling it a day.
Kenny played #2, against some better player, did well enough and got a TD on 6 of 7 passing.
Mason played a good game, 17/21and a TD. He did have the intentional grounding resulting in a Safety but the Oline kind of sucked.

    The third game
Mitch started and this was to be his final tuneup. He started off awful. He struggled off/on through the first half but he did get 13 points in the 2nd.
Kenny batted 2nd again? Went 10/14 and 90 yards.. no scores.
Mason batted cleanup for whatever reason and went 0 for 3 in the 4th. He was headed to 3rd QB

It is mixed, I agree. But you had 2 Vets and Mitch was terrible as the season began aside from the opening day win over the Bengals.

I know I was a huge fan of Kenny but I wish they had let him sit a little longer. It really should have been Mason and Mitch the vets. If both failed, then Kenny.

This is one of the nonsense points that should have gone away a long time ago. I couldn't care less where he went to college. I wanted him to succeed for the sake of the Steelers.

If you have something to say, say it. If you don't, just acknowledge you posted nonsense and move on.

    Those are my only choices?

Funny you should call it nonsense when a very large number of people(I have conversed with) that remain upset about KP getting traded in fact ARE also Panthers fans. The vast majority of those also say that that fandom has nothing to do with how they feel about the trade.

There are a few Panthers fans that are actually glad he's gone, or at least what they say. AND there are non-Panthers fans that are still upset about it as well.

I don't know to what extent the anger about the Kenny trade relates to being a Pitt Panthers fan, but there is evidence of a relationship. At least with people I have spoken with.

I am not a Pitt Panthers fan. Not a hater, not a fan, half a country away. I would lhave liked for KP to stay and play behind Russ for a season. I think that would have been the better solution.

Does thinking Najee Harris is still worthy to be the starter over Jaylen Warren make me an Alabama fan? Does thinking T.J. Watt is the best defensive player in the NFL make me a Wisconsin fan? Does wanting the Steelers to draft Jackson Powers-Johnson make me an Oregon fan?

I wanted Pickett to do well because he was a Steeler. i didn't want him as their first-round pick going into that draft. I wanted Linderbaum. (Does that make me an Iowa fan?) I didn't like the trade because it cost them a cheap No. 2 quarterback, and then because I don't think much of Fields.

You asked the board a question based in a nonsense argument that has been floating around here since he before the Steelers drafted him. You specifically talked about people who didn't like the trade, and I'm one of those, so how was it not for me?

Criteria 1: Are you upset about the KP trade? If yes, go to criteria 2.

Criteria 2: Are you a Pitt Panthers fan. If also yes, this question is for you.

If the answer to either criteria is no, not your question.
    Nothing about fandom.
Not a setup for some future ‘gotcha’.

I have asked this on multiple forums. Only 1 poster across all of them seems confused.

I'm not confused. I just reject your premise that only people who disliked the trade and root for Pitt can answer it. Wouldn't addressing the larger point also include knowing who disliked the trade but isn't a Pitt fan?

That said, I'm a Pitt alum. My apologies if that wasn't clear. I thought you knew that. I simply don't care where Pickett played his college ball. By your logic, I'm wasn't supposed to like Franco Harris or Jack Ham, two of my favorite Steelers from the '70s. I also shouldn't have rooted for Paul Posluszny when he was in the league. (I met him when I was covering local sports in Pittsburgh and he was a star at Hopewell.) They are all Penn State guys. I should have disliked Jerome Bettis, too, because I despise Notre Dame. If Joe Alt somehow fell to the Steelers, I would be thrilled to see them take him. (He's another Notre Dame guy.)

Nope. You are adding your own things to the question. But I do have your answer now. Thanks. I’ll be moving on from this conversation at this time.

I totally agree with You on this, but @Born2Steel@Born2Steel does have a legit point.
If I was running the show I would have still brought in Watson, kept KFP, and Mason....then I would have made them battle it out, and picked a starter later. We see that most teams are in need of more then one Qb, and possibly 3.
Also the people I've seen the most upset are Pitt fans.

I've seen plenty of people, off as well as on, who have no affiliation with Pitt and they don't like the Steelers giving up on him so quickly. That said, there is a legitimate reason why people who follow Pitt might have held out more hope for Pickett than those who do not, one that has nothing to do with fanboyism. They saw more of him at his best.

We now have to cycle thru all the arms we can get to find the franchise QB. This might take 10 years.

But I have to give the Steelers credit for moving on from Kenny. Admitting a mistake and moving on when they did.

Well, since none of us have $5 billion laying around, Rooney stays. I blame Colbert for putting together one of the worst O lines in the league and Tomlin for terrible OC choices.
