1. Chicago Bears:

With @S.T.D the new Chicago GM, all signs point to the Bears drafting a CB No. 1 overall.

The only question is which CB the Bears will select or if they will attempt to convert Caleb Williams from playing QB to CB.

 

I don't mean to complain, but in past years you've had two separate lists- one which shows draft order, and one which shows draft order from the first round wit each teams draft position along with the member who is selecting for that team. Makes it a lot easier to tag the member once you've made a pick.

Being the only real newbie this year, a few basic rules that will enhance your, and our, experience:
1. There is a time limit for each pick, by round. They are generous, but people get antsy when you don't follow it. Plan ahead, because some people pick using the full time, and some people pick in five minutes. Since you have the Raiders, start planning ahead when say Minnesota is on the clock.
2. The proper way to announce your selection is "With pick #x in the xth round, the Las Vegas Raiders select (name)(position)(college). The (city and team) are now on the clock @(member who is selecting for that team)." Many members tend to expound, and if you pick a CB you should mention STD, but those are the things that HAVE to be included. I always include the time of my pick (EDT for me, but whatever works for you).
3. If you know you will not be around to make a vote, it best way to handle it is to dm @Blast Furnace two or three players that you would draft at that spot, in order. Make sure you have as many players as spots up to and including your selection. That way Blast can make the pick for you when your time comes and you're happy with who you got.
4. If you absolutely miss your pick, you actually have until the next person makes their pick to make your selection. Once that person has made their selection, someone else WILL make your teams selection. It's not might, it's will. We need to keep the draft going, and we can't wait three days for someone to come back and make a selection. People tend to look at your needs and make an informed selection.
5. If you don't like your selection, and decide to "take your ball and go home", you won't be welcomed back. Too many have done that in the past, and it sucks for everyone involved.
6. Selections belong in the draft selections thread. Commentary on the selections belong in this thread. Simplifies things for Blast that he doesn't have to wade through a dozen comments before he gets to the next selection. He does a good job keeping up, but sometimes he'll get a few selections behind.

Has the draft started or are we waiting for the red carpet to be rolled out for @S.T.D ?

 

Blast- Houston just traded their #2 to buffalo this morning. Since we haven't actually had a pick yet, will that trade be included in this mock? I ask as Houston's GM.

 

The Bills get the Texans second round pick and the Texans receive Stefon Diggs, this year's 6th rounder and the 5th round pick in 2025.

 

I am reading this as 2025.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Bills are sending Diggs, a 2024 sixth-round draft pick and a 2025 fifth-round draft pick to the Texans for the Minnesota Vikings' 2025 second-round draft pick.

So Besides the 2024 6th round pick this shouldn't really effect the 2024 mock draft, I don't know if you guys have ever made it to the 6th round.

As Brice pointed out, it's for next year's 2nd, so as far as I'm concerned, if Buffalo wants to use Diggs to trade up in the draft, its no skin off my back.

Sorry rock151. It was between haynes and a safety. But there were more safeties than inside linemen.

 

FYI. I am not getting my Mentioned Alerts notices anymore from the Draft selection thread.

Yesterday and today I should have had like 2 alerts that someone mentioned me in a post, but I didn't get any alerts that I was on the clock.
