Last year we had 2 Thursday night games, and both those games were at home. Something tells me this year we are going to get screwed on the road games for Thursday Night.

Dec 25th Maybe we will be playing one of those new Wednesday night games on the Road this year.

They went 10-7 with below average QB play, and with Minkah and Heyward not being themselves the whole season.

True but the schedule could be tougher in 2024 and I don't think they will be 5-1 in the AFC north again....Not if Burrow is healthy. And if the defense is not much better, the PPG will be much worst too...Can't expect to be 6th in PPG and be bottom 10 in yards against again...This is hard to have 6 red zone turnovers in the entire season but this is what the steelers had in 2023...also the steelers were 9-2 in one score game, can't expect that every year....The steelers need to be much better to improve their record in 2024....Of course,I don't think the offense will be awful again unless they don't add a another good WR.....

It makes sense because the Ratbirds and Brownies have it tough too. It should mean the whole division has it tough, but the Bungles being way-WAY easier is an outlier. That part is strange. Their strength of schedule matchups must be cupcakes.

True, but one of the main reasons the YPG was so high was because we were poor in 3rd down % compared to the rest of our defensive stats. I don't think it is much of a coincidence that we were 21st in YPG allowed while at the same time being 21st in 3rd down conversion % allowed. We should expect a high rate of turnovers given that we have a great pass rusher, a great safety, a really good other pass rusher, and a really good young corner. We should expect to have good red zone defense for these very reasons too. If we turn that 3rd down conversion % around, you will see the YPG allowed greatly improve.

The toughness of the schedule in April means nothing. Some teams will have devastating injuries, some teams will have their draft picks/FA's flop, some teams will greatly outperform their preseason status. It's meaningless at this point to look at schedule toughness. As for the AFC North, 5-1 is definitely tough with a healthy Burrow, but we did all this while averaging basically nothing on offense. If we can score some points, we will make it even easier to win games.

a few years ago when Ben was still here i would agree with you. But Ben is long gone and i think Tomlin’s messages are getting stale after 18 years.

And missing games, not to mention the horrible ILB
Injuries. Does anybody know Kwon is coming back, or even capable
    Of playing?

No news on Kwon, he's probably still recovering, if he's still a free agent once camp opens then they should sign him to a vet minimum deal.

FYI. I was watching the Rich Eisen show tonight, and he said that he has been told by the NFL to completely clear his schedule for next Wednesday.

Rich believes that NFL is planning on having its 2024 Schedule release show for Wednesday May 15.

After hosting 2 Thursday night games in 2023, I think the door is going to swing the other way and the Steelers will be on the road for their Thursday Night games in 2024.

Also curious to see who gets the Wednesday games this year played on Christmas.

Good point. Our ILB position was decimated last year. I really wonder how it was possible given what has been discussed with our QB situation, OC situation, Kicking and ILB injuries. Getting 10 wins seems rather good.

Strength of schedule pre-season depends 100% on how strong your division was last year. More than 1/3 of your schedule is played within a division. In the AFC North, the worst team was 9-8. The top three teams in SOS this year are from the AFC North. The best team in the NFC South last year was 9-8. The bottom three teams, and four of the bottom five, are from the NFC South.

I've also seen Cleveland listed as having the toughest schedule, since A) they had an 11-6 record to our 10-7, so Pittsburgh picks up 2 games in SOS, but 2) their 2nd place games are Miami (11-6), Jacksonville (9-8), and NO (9-8), while our third place games are Jets (7-10), Colts (9-8), and Falcons (7-10), so we lose 6 games in SOS.

Since 2020, the AFC North has won 62.7% of it's games outside of the division (106-63). The next best division is the NFC West, at 54.7 (94-78). (not sure why the AFC North has played 3 less games than the NFC West. Ties, maybe?). In the division, the Steelers are 16-8, winning 2/3 of their games. #2 surprisingly is the Browns, at .500 (12-12). The Ravens are 11-13 while the Bengirls are 9-15. No Steelers QB, even Mitch, has a losing record against the AFC North since 2020.
