Let's hope it's actually him singing every night. The Eagles just got caught lip syncing to previous recorded vocals.

Hard to believe Him , and His band got booed off the stage in 1982. Goes to show some people don't like somethings until it's cool too, or they think it's now OK . Sheep.

I don’t know that’s quite it. Supposedly At that festival the majority of the performers played acoustic and then srv showed up and played electric. The people booing were supposedly “blues purists”. A similar thing happened to Bob Dylan. He was scheduled to play a folk music festival and opted for full electric band and subsequently got booed.

Agree. The venues were quite small and the arrangements were all acoustic guitars with a wiz guitarist Mike Dawes playing the acoustic lead parts. He has a gal playing keyboard who also does the high harmonies that former Moody John Lodge couldn't handle even 20 years ago the last I saw the full MBs at the Greek in LA. There was just enough imperfection to his vocals that it didn't seen like pre-recordings. You did warn us/me about the auto-tuning technology for vocals so that part I'm not sure about. When I saw Emerson, Lake and Palmer back in the mid-late 90's, Greg Lake sadly could only grunt his vocals after so many great vocal tunes with King Crimson and ELP. Way back in the day, saw Crosby, Stills and Nash also at the Greek not too long after they formed and their harmonies were horrible. I believe auto-tuning helped them a lot as they progressed.

Well I watched it on a documentary of SRV on MTV back in the day, and for whatever reason ....they not only booed Him, and the band off stage , they threw things at them as they left.

Here's a higher quality update of Van Halen's Warner Brothers demos from before the 1st album release. Pretty cool to hear how some of these songs were before final release.

I actually would rather them sound not as good as they did than I would the faking. I loathe how many people fake play, and sing today. I grew up with players, and musicians that taught Me .....if you can't do it properly live .....don't do it.

I think it may have been who he was opening for/billed along with. He opened for the Moody Blues at the Forum in LA back in the 70's (first I ever heard of SRV) and it seemed strange for this style of free-form hard blues music to lead into the mellower prog rock style of the MBs. Yes it took a while for audiences to warm up to his playing but when they did, it was amazing. Still like how he teamed up with David Bowie on China Girl and other hits and later with Dick Dale on a super wild rendition of Pipeline.

You can always Hear M. Anthony's back ground singing....it was always a key IMO to the vocals of VH.

You, and @strummerfan are both correct, but it's still funny for Me to think about some of the same people booing Him, probably bought albums later , and talked about seeing Him live.
I will use Metallica for example. In HS in the 80s I remember guys hollering, and telling us to turn down that devil music, and the 1st time I seen them live there was maybe 300- 500 people. I know for a fact some of those same guys that told us to turn that stuff down then..... now will tell You how big of fans they have been of theirs since the beginning. LoL. I just find stuff like that odd.....that's some people can't like things just because they do, but because they are popular.
