STD not voting cost JPJ as being the mock pick. I mentioned earlier that if it came down to a tie between JPJ and Fuaga, then I would have switched my vote to Powers Johnson just so we could move on.

I agree they need another corner. Prior to FA I was arguing CB in the first. Then Khan released Cole and traded DJ without doing much to backfill, and it changed the landscape. Still, I don't consider Jackson to be much of a presence on the outside. It's where he played the majority of his snaps with Carolina, but his size and speed match up better in a slot corner's role.

I could have sworn we Drafted McDuffie the year before that. How many CBs do we need to Mock draft to keep STD happy? :)

Now to the real world.... If somehow AB is right, and the Steelers sign FS Simmons we are out of the DB market for the first 3 rounds. It will be OT, C, and WR.

We at the TSF draft picked Trent McDuffie in 2022 but in the real draft the Steelers selected Kenny Pickett.

Yes in the first, Kahn did even better getting Jones in the first and Joey Jr. in the second.

According to Mel Kiper, out of the Steelers top 10 draft wish list for this year 4 of them are corners. So there is a good chance they might grab a corner in the first round.

4 more picks and the Steelers are up. Much of what they need is getting drafted. I still see some WRs I like, a CB or two, not a center for the value of pick #51, a possible d-lineman.

Probably too early for Van Pran even though we badly need a center. Roman Wilson the WR from Michigan would be a good pick here, he's 5'11" 185 and runs a 4.39. Wilson is an excellent route runner and has good hands. As far as CB there is Ennis Rakestraw from Missouri and an excellent safety Jaden Hicks from Washington State would be a good value at #51. These are some names that I am throwing out there.

Steelers on the clock at pick #51.

I am pounding the table for Mike Sainristil, Nickel CB, Michigan. I watched plenty of Michigan ball last season, and this guy is a playmaker. He reminds me a lot of the Honey Badger.

Nickel corner is a really important position, and this guy is tailor made for the role.

Yeah, I think I am going to go with Tomlin's Play Toy at the Senior Bowl, WR Roman Wilson. He seems like the perfect compliment to Pickens, and a good replacement for DJ. Roman is 5'11" 185 and runs a 4.39.

Then the "House" showed up a day before Michigan's Pro Day to meet and greet Wilson. (Khan, Tomlin, and Arthur) To say the Steelers have been all over this kid this offseason is an understatement. They may even be tracking his phone calls. :)

Not sure what the relationship is with Mike Tomlin and Roman Wilson. Roman just says that he has met Mike a couple times when I was younger.

LOL... Here is a short on why the Steelers will be using their 2nd round pick on WR Roman Wilson.

    hmmm…
Keeping with the Michigan theme, I will vote Kris Jenkins DL 3-Tech, Michigan.

I think our hand is being forced here, and as such, I have to cast my vote on Van Pran a little earlier than expected

Sainristil is tiny at 5'9" and 182 but he does have a 40" vertical jump. He played WR his first 2 years in college before switching to CB his last 2 seasons. He had 5 picks last year because he still has the WR mentality that if the ball is in the air then he is coming down with it but we are depleted at WR and Center so it's a tough call and I'm still undecided.

I have to say. I'm leaning this way. The calibur of receiver available now isnt much better than what will be available in the 3rd.

I'm going to go with Van Pran. The drop off from him to the rest of the centers left in the draft is pretty steep. There will still be some decent WR's left in round 3.
