Do you think Super Bowl 40 was fixed? Bettis' last season... Game being played in his home town.

Yeah I sorta feel like as a FOOTBALL fan the SB sorta leaves you hanging out to dry. I mean during the course of the regular season there are quite a few people watching. But during the Super Bowl it's like EVERYONE is watching and then you get to go to work the next day and listen to people who never watch football otherwise talk about football and you're just like "dude where are you the other 20 weeks of the year"? LOL. I really think a lot of times the game is sorta the backdrop for this huge spectacle. I've heard that most people in the stands are not not even fans in the sense that WE are. They are a lot of corporate people that get tickets because of who they are. That's not what football is about to me. The Super Bowl should be packed with ravenous, bloodthirsty, Steeler Fans begging to see James Harrison rock somebody's world I think. But I still always watch it. I never watch it with anyone though. To me the Super Bowl is something of a historical event and I always like to soak up every last bit of info I can about it and also it's my last game of the year so I relish it as much as possible. That's just me though.

As a matter of fact, I do. Not necessarily fixed but...........helped along. I've thought the same thing about all of them since 2001.

    come on Santee

you know daggone well that Ben walked up to Bettis after he threw that pick to Harrison in the afcc of the 2004 season
    he told him
he'd get him back to the afcc and do what he could to get him a ring.

All the "Hollywood" endings in the biggest game of the year are a little too coincidental. These are just my conspiracy theories, I don't expect anyone else to buy into them!

It's all good. As long as our boys are on the superbowl field, then that's what matters. Because they were there the other 20 weeks of the season.

I'm not on the conspiracy wagon, but to add to the fire, the Pats winning after 911 when everyone became uber patriotic. I remember hearing talk way before the SB that year that the Patriots needed to win because of how patriotic the country was after the attack.

No Willies 75 Yard run was real. Willie had the advantage there. He was running on dry ground and the sea chickens were slipping in sh*t

I'm sure the Seahawks were paid by the NFL to let Parker break a nice long run. I mean come one, talent and the "Win one for the Gipper" attitude can only take you so far.

    :lolol:

........and then there was the SB where the Raiders head coach changed game plans days before the game so his buddy Gruden could win and get revenge on Al Davis!
