You do know there is a reason we got both for peanuts? I hope they ball out, but im not holding my breath. I would still draft , hopefully our future franchise qb or get Tannehill as he knows A Smith’s offense.

The NFL demands a qb who can make quick, good decisions consistently while having a level of physical skills. I think mobility is a nice to have not a need to have. Neither Brady nor Manning were mobile. Brady nor Brees did not have a cannon of arms. What all three had in spades was the ability to throw accurately after they made a decision quickly. I would examine the wonderlic scores of any qb and only take those that scored well above average who also had NFL athletic ability.
Just a note, Kenny Pickett's wonderlic score was not above average.

I understand there are no Joe Burrow types this draft year but I always have a little hope we can find a diamond in the rough. Pretty sure Tom Brady and Purdy were not touted to be franchise QB's their draft year.

I know of Purdy's quick success in the NFL but I'm still not sold on him going the distance.

Lamar Jackson a perfect example, oh wait he is a 2 time MVP, whippty doo! Whats he won 2 playoff games in his career? Also LJ had most rushing yds last year for a qb, guess who was second ? You got it, Justin Fields!
Im with you, Id rather have a cerebal assassin than someone who runs right off the bat cause they cant figure out defenses.

Dude , i hope it works out. Like i said on paper the qb room is already better. Im glad we only paid peanuts for both of them, so if it don’t work out, we dont lose much. Go Steelers
Also, ill be very happy to eat crow

I'm old school and always said running QB's don't win SB's. A pure passer is needed. I never got much crap about it until Mahomes came along. Don't see KC much but those legs are going to slow down and I don't know if he'll become a great pocket passes. Actually I've seen him play more Golf then Football. At this point in life I only give 100% of time to the Steelers. Ain't Steelers my interest has really faded. This board is my knowledge.

Mahommes will only run if necessary. I don’t put him in category with Lamar. Mahommes can actually improvise and get wrs open

    Agreed
Comparing a Qb that hasn't run for 400 yards in one season to a Guy that runs for over 1000 almost every year is funny. Lamar Jackson rushes in a year what Pat Mahomes does in 3 years added together.

    Nothing about accuracy???

The knock-on Rattler has always been his accuracy, this is what got him benched at Oklahoma. Great arm and mobility, but just does not have NFL accuracy.

Mahomes is already better than Brady in the grand scheme of NFL history. We'll see how Chiefs do. Back in the 70's, the Steelers were unstoppable until some injuries to Harris and Blier in 1976 season.

Mahomes will have to eventually deal with life without Kelce....his security blanket.

They thought Mahommes would digress after Tyreek Hill left too… didn’t happen. Young man is good, cant believe Caleb Williams is comparing himself to him.

Have you watched Rattler at all after he left Oklahoma? He has done a lot of growing up.
