Since we had crazy FA period and have new QB's , LB, DB, ect. How do you think next season goes for us?
I hope we contend for AFC North and make playoffs and win a playoff game. Anything else is a failure and should equal MT gone.

I need to see how the rest of free agency and the draft go before I set any expectations. My only feeling right now is at least we have a shot at being better than .500 and a 1st round playoff exit. Could the team end up being worse sure but at least some moves were made to try and change the status quo.

A playoff win is at the top of the list for me.
Would love to see us, win the division and host a playoff game.
A prepared football team would also be nice.

When accounting for injuries and the adjustment period due to a new offensive scheme. 9-8 or 10-7 seems about right.

MT has earned any bashing any steeler fan gives him after the embarrassing AFC championship debacle where he got depantsed by the Belicheats. No playoff wins in numerous years. Even the Browns and Bengals have a playoff win since our last one. But really the question is what should we expect for next year?

My thoughts are 10-7 or 11-6. The defense will play better by spending less time on the field with a better offense. There will still be growing pains on offense. Russell Wilson will get the start early, but get pulled unless he is absolutely playing lights out. With his salary this year it isn’t necessarily must play because he is getting paid. We have to find out what Justin Fields is capable of.

The offense cannot be any worse than the last 3 years excluding the Mason Rudolph offense explosion games. So with a competent linebacker in middle and a pulse on offense should make us a 11 win team.

Likely close to .500. Could be a bit better, or could be a bit worse.

The Steelers still have a solid roster and they’ve got some good young players. The big issue is the division is still brutal. The Bengals have Burrow (as long as he’s healthy). The Ravens are still great. And the Browns have a solid roster, despite issues with DW.

Last year the Steelers benefitted from some big injuries (although they also had a few of their own). Going 5-1 in the div was key to them making the playoffs. I don’t think they’ll go 5-1 this year.

    Well 2 out of 3

If it’s a new scheme new players is irrelevant

    It’s new for all players

My expectations are that with this roster and different offensive coaching staff and playbook, there is absolutely no reason the Steelers shouldn't win multiple playoff games this year. The face that they stumbled into the playoffs (well, the higher number of teams making it helps) with what they had says that they should go further with what the have now. And having a veteran QB who was better than any of our QBs this past season should help make a big difference.

well on the offensive side of the ball. new players on defense will be different in learning the system and the new guys playing around them. coaches trying to learn the system and how to teach it to the players will be difficult on offense.

I think we make the playoffs. Are quarterback room is way better. We got queen in the Middle. Are team as whole will be better.

My heart wants to say a deep playoff run, with Russ and Fields both contributing to the offense in novel ways.

My mind wonders, though, if there's a distinct possibility that MT has his first losing season this year. It would be ironic if all of these bold FA moves somehow amounted to a worse outcome. This obviously wouldn't be ideal, but it would at least allow us to draft high. Honestly, a middling season would actually be the worst case situation.
